Ovulation signs

So, I know that an 'egg white' like discharge is a sign that you're ovulating but does it matter how many days per month you have this discharge?

Eg do women only ovulate on the days they have this discharge?

I've noticed that some months it'll last for a few days & others only one & wondered that means for conception chances. I'm late 30s (and kinda appalled that this stuff is taught earlier)

Everyone is very different, some people get a lot and some people don't get it at all. I only tend to have EWCM once/one day each cycle and usually about 2 days before ovulation (based on ovulation tests). Have you used ovulation tests?

Varies by individual. Usually it appears as a result of soaring oestrogen in the days before ovulation, ahead of the LH surge (which subsequently triggers ovulation). If trying to conceive you may as well have sex when you see it as it's the kind of CM sperm can live in until the short-lived egg shows up. But if you can't see any mid cycle that doesn't necessarily mean you aren't fertile on those days. You could do urine tests to track LH as strawberrylaces12 noted.
