Trying for another baby 4 months pp-after 12 years of infertility!

Hi all,
I’ve long been a lurker here via Google but finally wanted to ask for advice myself.
My eldest Son is 14. I got pregnant very young (21). Me and my husband started to try again for another a couple of years later. It never happened. Had all the tests-sperm fine, regular periods, 21 day bloods fine, hyscosy fine no blocked tubes. AMH 9.5 but told this shouldn’t stop me conceiving naturally. Diagnosed with unexplained secondary infertility in 2014.
We finally gave up on having another baby in 2017. Then randomly last April I found out I was pregnant. I couldn’t believe it, after all those years! Anyway, baby is 6 months old now and we would really like to try for another. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Did you have any success when trying again? I know the chances are really slim this time around as I’m 37 this year.
Sorry if I’ve posted in the wrong place and thanks for sticking with me if you read this far!

Well you have nothing to lose by trying. Just forget about contraception going forward and see what happens. I wouldn't 'try' as such or you will put yourself under pressure. I wanted several children and did not meet DH until I was 33. We had 3 children and I was 39 when 3rd was born. It may happen straight away and it may not, so be prepared for it too not happen and if it does that is a bonus 🙂

Thanks for the reply! I’d not been on any contraception since we started trying in 2011 and never had a positive pregnancy test until last April. I’ve not gone back on any contraception this time!

Post partum is a woman's most fertile time.
I've heard countless stories about couples who've had to have fertility treatment, and then ended up naturally conceiving after giving birth. It happened to dh's friends, they have a 13 month age gap.

Ah Those are the stories I like to hear. I know it’s not the case for everyone but they are lovely to hear. Hopefully it’s the same for me!
