Period around 3 weeks late - could I be pregnant despite negative test a few weeks ago?

Hello
Sorry for spamming the forum this is my third post regarding this but every week that goes by where I don't have my period I'm getting more concerned.

I tested when my period was approx 2-3 days late and it was negative. I really thought it would be positive as I thought I'd had some symptoms. Anyway since that test result my partner and I have had unprotected sex. I don't know when I ovulated.

Now my period is 3 damn weeks late. My cycles aren't super regular , they can vary a bit, but never this extreme.

I have been feeling extremely fatigued and just off in general. I'm worried if it's not pregnancy there could be something seriously wrong with me.

I know the obvious first step is to take another pregnancy test but I found taking it before quite stressful and took an emotional toll on me which is why I don't want to! :(

I am 27.

Yes, you could be pregnant.

There is only one way to find out.

Pee on a stick!

Take another test
A friend of a friend was pregnant a while back but kept getting negative stick tests - it was confirmed by the drs with a blood test in the end

@Starbo1010 Hi, I am the same. I am 2 weeks and 2 days late, and I did 3 pregnancy tests, which came out negative. I have also given a urine sample at the gps, which was also negative. Still no sign of periods. Tomorrow, I will be making an appointment with the gp so I can ask for a blood test. I have never been this late.

@Starbo1010 and @Strawberry2512 mines late too. I'm normally bang on 30 days but I'm currently on CD 43 and no sign if AF. Tested two times and all negative. I did take antibiotics this cycle but was well after predicted ovulation so didn't think it would effect it! It's frustrating isn't it

@Grace185 @Starbo1010, let me know how you both get on. I will keep you updated. Let's pray it's good news for us all.

In all honesty love you’re going to have to do another test. Why was the first test hard on you? What result were you hoping for?

YorkshirePeridot · 04/04/2024 09:47

I would do another test and see what it says, even though they can be stressful. Better to know.

I'm nearly two weeks late currently so in a similar situation. I've done a lot of reading about why periods might not turn up and apparently there's lots of reasons for it. I've tried three different brands of pregnancy tests and all negative. If you do track ovulation it might be worth seeing what's going on with that, I got a positive opk yesterday which has given me hope.

If your next period doesn't come then maybe see a doctor.

I had some very light spotting today - thought period was starting but doesn't seem to be and haven't had my weird usual pms symptoms (incessant itching and being unable to sleep) . Still too afraid to test!

Just test, what else can you do? I’ve had late periods before from stress. It’s not clear whether you want a pregnancy or not though?

Starbo1010 · 05/04/2024 16:11

Update I got my period today- not sure why I was so late but I did have a flu type bug soon after my last period or maybe just stress .
