Is sperm testing worth it?

TTC#2 and we’re on cycle 4. I’m well aware this is not long at all but DC1 was conceived very quickly. He was conceived using home insemination because DH is on medication that makes it really hard for him to deliver the goods through DTD. So we decided to keep sex for fun and take the pressure off. It worked well clearly however I’ve always had this feeling that it was a total fluke. The medication is often linked to basically nuking sperm so I was very surprised we got pregnant so quickly. DH also only ejaculates a tiny and mount (1ml) which is below normal.
so now we’re are TTC again and no joy so far. I’ve been tracking my cycles so sure we are getting the right times. We are both pretty healthy, DH goes to the gym a few times a week, no smoking, rarely drinks, takes lots of vitamins. but DH has been very stressed at work - I know this can have a big impact for women but not sure for men.
I know we haven’t been trying long but I’ve been tempted to have a semen analysis to see if everything is ok. I’m 35 and he’s 43 so time is not on our side exactly.
however, I’m worried that if things aren’t great this will add more pressure to the situation making it worse. I get the impression that if semen isn’t good then there’s not much you can do to improve it, is that right? I don’t want for him to feel like the problem if there’s nothing we can do anyway.
any advice?
