Been ttc for well over a year, not a hint of a bfp in that time. Had tests carried out recently and was diagnosed with male factor infitility, 12million per ml, 30% motility, 20% progressive motility and 4% morphology. Was were advised we would need IVF with ICSI.
There were no issues found with me, I have children from a previous relationship, never had any fertility issues until now and I have text book cycles.
My partner had been taking proxeed plus for around 2 months when he had his SA so the results may have been lower before that, we don't know If it made a difference as he only had one SA.
So we'd accepted things wouldn't happen naturally and decided to have a break from it over the summer while we save for IVF. Our very last cycle before giving up we tried clomid with the intention producing more targets for the sperm. It was a case of probably won't work but no harm in trying. To my absolute shock, on 8dpo I tested positive on a digital and have since done a million more tests because I don't believe it. 10dpo today and the line has gotten significantly darker over the last day or so.
I had a follicle scan on cd12 there was a dominant follicle of 14mm, a smaller 10mm follicle then the rest were like 7mm etc. According to bbt I ovulated on cd15 - so 3 days after the scan. I know they can grow up to 2mm a day and tend to ovulate at 18mm+. If the 10mm one grew 2mm a day, in three days it could have been around 16mm, potentially more or less.
My question is, is there a possibility that 10mm follicle could have caught up in that time and been fertilised? Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm probably just being dramatic but this has all been a shock to me and now I'm panicking over multiples. I know the only way to confirm is a scan but that will be weeks away. I was just curious of other people's experiences with 10mm follicles. I'm floored that any fertilised at all.
For any one dealing with male factor.. this cycle we had ALOT more sex than usual before, during and after ovulation but there was also a 2 day break in-between. We used conceive plus lube and a soft disc on about 3 occasions during that time. My partner has been using proxeed about 3 months now and obviously there was clomid threw the mix. Ovulation is pretty much the same day for me every cycle so we knew when to dtd prior and it was confirmed with bbt.
