Fertility cup? Do we bother?

evening all! I’m just heading into cycle 14 of ttc number one. Haven’t had a whiff of a positive and both mine and my husband’s tests have come back as normal/good. I do have adenomyosis and suspected endometriosis so that’s probably not helping matters. I’m looking to get a HyCoSy booked in in the next few months but in the mean time I wondered about using a fertility cup? It’s one of the only things we haven’t tried and whilst my husband’s sperm is pretty tip top I wonder if we should just give it a whirl? Anyone got any positive stories? Thanks so much!

Hi there @MrsBP15

Me and my husband have been trying for a while (I have pcos so long cycles) and last year we were referred and seen at the fertility clinic.

I was given letrozole to ovulate regularly. We used a fertililly cup on our second cycle of medication (first time ever using the cup) and I got pregnant that cycle, I did unfortunately miscarry at 6w.

We have used it every cycle since and nothing yet 😞

But I do think it would definitely be worth a try for you, and it could be beginners luck with it as I have read a lot about people getting pregnant first try with it.

Who knows if it did or didn’t but nothing to lose.

Hopefully there will be some positive stories posted.
Wishing you the best of luck and hope you get a positive very soon 🤞🏼 x

Thank you @LittleLemonPie and I’m so sorry for your loss. That must have been so hard for you, especially as you haven’t had another positive. I’m really hopeful for you that you get another one soon and that your rainbow baby will soon be on the way 🌈

I’ve ordered a cup in time for us entering my fertile window over the weekend. At this point I’m willing to try anything and it’s not like it’s going to do any harm so we’ll see. I think passing the year mark has been really hard for me but I’m hoping to get this HyCoSy sorted soon and hopefully that will render something useful. Again, it can’t hurt right? (I mean I know it will hurt but I’m willing to give it a shot).

I got pregnant on cycle 27 and the only difference that cycle was using a fertilily. It might be coincidence but I had tried everything at that point and now I have a 2 year old 😃 Good luck

@MrsBP15 thank you, I hope so 🤞🏼🌈 two more cycles and then moving on to ivf.

TTC is so hard and I feel you about passing the year mark. It’s a tough journey!

It’s definitely worth a try, the cycle I got pregnant we also used preseed. The cup is fiddly and bit uncomfortable but instantly fine once it’s in the right place.
TMI my husband had to do it for me because I found it very hard, dono if my cervix is an unusual position for the angle me doing it myself lol but he’s now an expert every month instead of me 🤣

I will keep everything crossed and manifest good positive vibes for you that this will be your bfp cycle 🤞🏼❤️

@BabyMoonPie that’s great! Lovely to hear 😊

So hopefully it’s first time using luck 🤞🏼🤍 for you OP xx

I tried the cup for about 3 or 4 cycles and it didn't work. I found it uncomfortable to put in and out.

However, a HSG did work for me on the 2nd cycle after. I also took Clomid (although I was ovulating).

Best of luck!

I seriously struggle getting it in right. It seems so far down and there was very little in it when I removed it.
