Monitored cycles, anyone doing one?

Hi! Iv done a few medicated cycles on letrozole 5mg, no scans and no joy!
This was my first cycle on Tamoxifen, I had a follicle scan today and had my trigger shot today as the follicle was a great big one so the doctor done the shot for me. I'm CD13! Really hoping for success this cycle 😭
History; one DS who is 3 next month, conceived after about 10 months trying at age 31.
2 miscarriages at 8/9 weeks in 2022
1 chemical in May 2023 and haven't been able to conceive since. I'm 35, turning 36 this year and just feel so over whelmed and under pressure.
My husband and I have had all the testing, everything is fine but my AMH is 9.5, doctor said it's ok and still doable.
🤞🏻🤞🏻 for a Christmas baby 👶

Hi,

I've just started letrozole day 3 today and first cycle too... How do you feel? honestly trying to conceive is the worst.

I'm also having trigger shot and scans starting day 10 - it just feels nice tha tthis can be a reality. There is a whatsapp group with a couple of us in who are going through letrozole cycles at the moment. There are couple others in 2ww if want to join: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GH3cOiLwgC7Hf7lnUVF8Ib

Did the doctors give you the trigger shot or did you have to do yourself? Similar to you my AMH is 8.2 - which was a bit of shock for me.

Letrozole 👶🏽🤞🏼

@Optimistic66 I'm trying to be optimistic but I duno, it's been such a hard road! 🙈 the doctor gave me the shot because I took it with me, he said the follicle was optimum size so he just gave it to me then! I was delighted because it's seems awkward enough 😂 he said my lining looks thick and he could see lots of mucus so we'll see! Came home and dtd straight away 😂 will dtd thurs sat mon etc. also said not to test for 14 days. I am a serial tester so that will be the hardest 🙈

It so hard - excuse the pun but i feel like all my eggs are in this one basket. I feel actually excited and nervous to be at this point.

How may tracking scans did you end p having? Are you NHS or private? my first one is day 10 - then i think every other day until doctor thinks im ready to ovulate. I'm private so fingers crossed its not many more after that!

haha Atleast you know you are coverd. Are you doing BBT?

Daniki · 26/03/2024 15:20

@Optimistic66 I actually only had one! I'm in Ireland and not sure if they do things differently but the way my day 10/11/12 fell I couldn't actually get the scan until today day 13 and worked out great! He said if it not successful this cycle then so the same next cycle and trigger day 13 again or I can go for a scan but they're €150 each! So will see how we get on.

Not doing BBT are you? I didn't bother with opks either, but I had EWCM this morn so seems to be right!

Do you have to pay for your scans privately?

@Daniki Ahh that works out really well espc as if you went CD12 -you might have had to go back for another.

I pay for each scan £160 but i'm private as I dont qualify for NHS funded treatment due to having a child already. He just turned 3 in december and similiar to you I had him at 31. He is forever asking when he is having a brother or sister.

TBH I'm obsessed with OPKs and BBT - wish I could sack them off but then im back at it - like a psycho.

Which cycle are you on?

Daniki · 26/03/2024 15:28

@Optimistic66 oh god we really are the same my son is 3 next week! It’s so hard, would love a sibling for him and growing increasingly aware of the age gap all the time!
have you read about NMN? It’s a supplement, I came across it on another thread here and has some great results for improving egg quality, reversing cell damage etc. women who had very low reserves/peri menopausal etc getting pregnant having taken it! So I started it in feb hopefully will help!
its pricey isn’t it, I was the same like if we have to go for a few scans we’d be bankrupt 😂
I got the Femsense ovulation tracker for this cycle just to try it out and not use opks, it hasn’t detected ovulation yet so be interesting to see if it picks it up!

@Optimistic66 meant say we’ve been trying for 2 years since July 22, have had 2 miscarriages and a chemical in May last year, nothing since! You?

Ahh really is the same - and i find everyone who had kids around the same time as me now has gone on to have second children/pregnant so find it so hard espc as i desperately want number 2 too.

I only read about this the other day - however where im only just starting Letrozole i didnt want to add anything yet - let meknow how it goes for you if you notice any changes.

I know -we've decided we'll do 3 rounds then 3 with IUI before thinking about if we want to go through with IVF - thats my current plan with my consultant. Obviously hoping it works within the 6 rounds. would be super depressing being broke and without a second child.

How many rounds of letrozoel have you done? or is this first? We've been trying 20 months or so... no sniff of a positive... my cycles have gone so light since having my son though - and i was always fobbed off.

Daniki · 26/03/2024 17:01

It's so annoying, because we've had a child they didn't think there is an issue!
Yea will let you know how I get on with it.
I done 4 rounds of letrozole but they were unmonitored. I was having the day 21 progesterone tests alongside it and they were never high enough so couldn't really confirm if I did ovulate or not.
Doctor switched me to tamoxifen for this monitored cycle so please god! The thoughts if IVF, we couldn't afford it! We're building a house atm and renting 💰

@Optimistic66 my Femsense tracker detected ovulation this morn, and I had some pains in my right side last night so hoping that the trigger worked!

Optimistic66 · 27/03/2024 10:17

@Daniki Fingers crossed - are you going to DTD every day for next couple days? So good that the trigger gave the nudge that it needed!! EEk!

What femsense tracker are you using? I was looking at the 'Ava' i think its called or ovusense.

Daniki · 27/03/2024 10:25

I used this one from Medicare I think, it was the only one in the site I bulk buy my opk & pregnancy tests from! I took a pregnancy tests to see the two lines this morn 😂 I'm a physco! Some people test it out to see it go negative but duno whether to do that or not.
We dtd yesterday this morn and will go every second night until late next week anyway I think!
