TTC too soon after ectopic

I suffered an ectopic pregnancy last month and needed surgery.
I guess I was in shock as I didn't even know I was pregnant as we had just started TTC and don't feel I asked the right questions after.
I did get an information leaflet away and it said that after surgical management to refrain from sex for 2 weeks and if well could resume.
I recovered well and needed my partner ...
Now iv read more I am panicking that I could be pregnant too soon after the surgery.
Should I have waited?
I didn't have any drugs just anaesthetic/pain relief.
I haven't had a period yet but know I ovulated.
all though I now only have 1 tube I was told that as I am young it shouldn't affect my fertility too much.
Any success stories?

Hi OP, I think it’s worth getting in touch with GP about this to be honest. My best friend had an ectopic pregnancy and had to gave surgery to remove, although she was told they could have sex again after 2 weeks she was also told to use contraception as guidance was to wait 2 months after the procedure before trying to conceive again.

I was told I could start trying as soon as I felt up to it by my surgeon. The guidance of 2 months is because your first period isn't a real period, and then you have a second period to base the start of your pregnancy from.

Hey! I was told it's ok to try right away by my surgeon. As it happens we waited a while (for reasons to do with work/moving house), but I'm now 17wks pregnant. It didn't take long after coming off contraception.

Hi,
I had an ectopic at the end of feb this year, I was advised to wait until my 'normal cycle' had returned and that the bleeding after/as ur HCG drops wasn't counted as a period.
The reason was so dates were accurate for arranging early scan of i fell pregnant again.
I understand ur worry tho... we planned to wait but DTD then realised that i had ovulated (I monitor BBT), 25days from surgery, 16days from bleed and 10 days from HCG tests turning negative 🙈
So it can be quite soon after. No idea what day I’m on. Haven’t had a period yet, inadvertently on TWW now.
