Hi there,

I have been off birth control since may 2020 and in June 2022 I was put on letrozole since having pcos was stopping me ovulate regularly by the fertility clinic.

we finally got pregnant in aug last year but end in mc in September.

since then we have seen negative after negative test and I’m starting to feel like giving up.

we have been given 3 more cycles of letrozole which takes us upto may then moving on to ivf.

  • My husbands test were all good
  • My progesterone bloods each cycle are very good
  • We take the right vitamins
  • exercise….( I’ve lost weight about 2 stone)
  • eat a fairly balanced & healthy diet
  • We dont drink, I don’t smoke but my husband vapes.

we did conceive, why is it so hard trying again and getting negative after negative.

I think knowing I was due in April etc just has me feeling very emotional. I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong or what else I can do, I feel like giving up.

Sorry for the long post. This is such a hard journey for all of us, some months just seem harder than others 😓💔

TIA to anyone who reads this xx

Hi OP, firstly I’m sorry you’re having a tough time and so sorry to hear about your loss.

One thing I will say though is that vaping does reduce sperm quality, count and motility. The lack of quality sperm being produced then makes egg fertilisation nearly impossibly for couples hoping to conceive. I would definitely encourage cutting that out because you could be doing everything right but if sperm quality is rubbish then you have next to no chance anyway.

I’ve got my fingers crossed you get your BFP soon! X

@Mrsttcno1 hi, thank you for your reply.
We are aware he shouldn’t be vaping. I think because all his tests came back more that great having 5x more than the normal all good mobility etc he seems to believe it’s no rush, but something he is working on, specially if it comes to ivf. He’s set himself a date to stop.

Thank you so much, wish you all the best x

I’m sorry this sucks so much! I know it sounds really silly but I gave myself period present, so I would plan in a trip to the hairdressers or a massage etc. It helped me to think it’s ok I have something to look forward too (I know it’s really trivial but it helped my mental health. I think your mental health takes such a battering more than people realise.

As April comes round it’s completely normal to be be upset and it’s not silly. Full on be upset, don’t hold back. I use to feel silly as people didn’t understand, but the more i tried not to be upset the more I struggled. I found allowing myself to fully release those emotions really helped.

There’s nothing I can say to make this better, it sucks. Maybe get back to your doctor and see what over options are available/ next steps?

Sounds tough OP. I wouldn’t worry about the vaping, plenty of people smoke and do all sorts and it doesn’t affect their fertility . I think stress is maybe a bigger factor but nobody can tell you to relax about this because you have been trying so long and want it badly. Perhaps look into other things in life for a while if you can go take the emphasis away. I wish you luck 🍀

@Georgethecat1 hi, thank you so much for your reply. Planning on something to treat yourself sounds such a good idea! I can see how that would help with the mental health aside of it all! I think I will start doing that 😊 I hope everything turned out well for you at the end of everything?🤞🏼🩷 we will see the fertility specialist at the end of may again and if not pregnant by then we will be moving on to ivf, which scares me a little but will be our next step forward ❤️

@43ontherocksporfavor hi there thank you for your reply. I know I’ve though of so much how there are couple etc don’t need to follow the healthiest lifestyle and still have a healthy baby. If we can check off the list though of everything we can possibly do to help we will I hope. Definitely I agree with the stress part but it’s hard to not stress subconsciously. I do meditate but thing I will look into it more and maybe get more hobbies to keep me busy in between working.

thank you to you all, wishing you all the best in life ❤️

Hi @LittleLemonPie can I ask what vitamins etc you are on? For PCOS, get on inofolic alpha and ubiquinol (COQ10) 600mg a day, plus vit D. You could also speak to your GP about getting on metformin too x

LittleLemonPie · 25/03/2024 15:02

@MotherOfShihTzus Hi, yeah so I take

-coq10 but I think the does is 300mg I take
-metholated b vitamins complex
-folate 400
-D3 with k2
and myo inositol for pcos
-I also take a college supplement

I will have a look at the inofolic alpha. Yeah I should maybe ask the fertility clinic about metformin.
Thank you very much x
