Could you have a sneaky peek at my profile pic please
BTW I'm not getting my hopes up cos I realise it is extremely likely to be faulty and if you're familiar with my cycles and my probs you'll know how unlikely it is to be positive
Just wondering if anyone has had this before?

i see a pink dot and a strong pink line

what denotes a positive result?

fruitloopwants79eastereggs · 27/03/2008 20:30

the strong pink line is the control line. the dot is the weird thing cos it's supposed to be a line (if pos)

Have you got another test? Def do another, pref in the morning. Tests work better then as the hormones in the wee are stronger.

Lulumama · 27/03/2008 20:43

faulty test? do another with first morning wee

Diege · 27/03/2008 21:46

I see a v.faint line to the right of the dot (not control line, next to dot). Nearly knackered lap top bending screen back, but I'm sure there's something there!
Is there any 'official' explanation for the errant dot?

you lot are hallucinating! lol
I've looked and looked, I promise you, there is no line! If you can see one on the pic (and I cant) then it'll be the dodgy pic. In real life, the stick only has a control line and a pink blob

OP posts:
iliketosleep · 27/03/2008 23:26

erm, i can see the line too lol

fruitloopwants79eastereggs · 28/03/2008 06:20

Excitement over

Just done a Digital Clear Blue and two more Ebay tests, All BFN.
I wonder what that dot was about then. Maybe it was some kind of weird evaporation thing?
I might put it on POAS.com as I couldn't find one on there like it. Might stop other people getting excited.
I'm not disappointed as I knew it was extremely likely to be a faulty test. SO, I am now completely in the hands of the NHS, Come on AF, come on you lazy old bag!

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 28/03/2008 07:40

Fruit, I could see the line last night, and the BFN's mean nothing until your period shows up, keep testing, every hour morning

fruitloopwants79eastereggs · 28/03/2008 08:20

well, after THREE tests I think I can safely say it's a BFN. NJ you are a bad kid!

I've worked out that, allowing for 10 days post course of prog, AF should come along anytime between now and Thursday next week. That's if it's worked! I might need to go back to the hosp for a repeat prescription if still no AF!

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 28/03/2008 08:37

Yes but that could just be because the HCG hasn't built up enough yet to show a BFP, there is always hope until your period comes...

fruitloopwants79eastereggs · 28/03/2008 13:26

NJ I'm lovin your enthusiasm but it cant possibly be positive because if I am pg (and trust me, I'm not getting my hopes up at all) and it's too early then why would yesterday's test pick up something when it was done at about 7pm, and 3 done this morning with FMU were all neg. This is why the test is definitely neg cos surely it would be stronger today, especially with FMU.

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 28/03/2008 13:38

Not always the way though is it? I waited 9 days (after my period was due) to get a BFP with DS2, every test I'd done was BFN, finally got a very faint BFP early evening.

Different tests, even from the same multi pack pick the HCG up at different strengths, a lot of people will say that a BFN should get darker and darker as time goes on, but you might have a fairly solid line one day, and then a faint line the next, not because you are any less pregnant, just because the second test wasn't as sensitive as the first IYSWIM?

There is hope yet, don't be defeated! ('coz I won't be!! )

fruitloopwants79eastereggs · 28/03/2008 14:50

Ok, I finally have proof of my BFN!

I emailed the test company who got back to me immediately with:

"A first for us too - never heard of a pink dot before. I can only assume that somehow as the reactive dye for the 'control' line was being deposited it also caused a drop to be put in the wrong place. Definitely a negative as the HCG 'test' line is deposited in a long line (strips are cut to size after deposition) so a proper line would appear if you are pregnant."

So there we have it, a big fat negative

Ahhhhh but did you tell them about the line that we could all see?!!

It is not over yet

fruitloopwants79eastereggs · 28/03/2008 14:55

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 28/03/2008 15:23

2beautifulgirls · 28/03/2008 19:51

I can see a line too!!!

fruitloopwants79eastereggs · 28/03/2008 19:57

Sorry to disappoint girls but I am finally having the beginning of AF! CD96 and (TMI) pinkish CM! I knew I could feel those familiar cramps! Yay, I can finally go for my blood tests and scans!
Whoopidoo! - Am I the only person TTC on here that has been desperate for AF to arrive?! haha

OP posts:
Disenchanted · 28/03/2008 21:08

Hooray for your AF!!

I felt like that last time I was TTC I had a 92 day cycle too!

(but sorry I can also see a quite obvious line on that test too!)

But Im glad AF has come and you can get on with your tests and scans

NatalieJane · 29/03/2008 11:39

It could be implantation....

How is it today?

fruitloopwants79eastereggs · 29/03/2008 18:58
