Early days still (🤞) but I am newly pregnant after a year of trying, now on 17dpo with an ever darkening line. I obsessively read other people’s descriptions of what they did differently every time I’ve had an unsuccessful cycle, so am adding mine in case it’s helpful to anyone.
- It was the first cycle after going to see my GP to get fertility checked - perhaps this took some pressure off.
- Usually we would start trying in a fairly full on way at the start of my fertile window, do lots of days in a row, manage a fairly exhausted peak day but certainly not one for luck afterwards. This time my partner was away for work for a week, then we hit day before, day of and day after peak, with a lot more enthusiasm than we would usually have by that point.
- I previously used the fertilily conception cup only on peak day, this time I used it all of these three days
- I get coldsores, and have had bad coldsores and swollen glands every time I’ve had a chemical. After talking to a friend who conceived after going on antivirals, I took lysine and high dose vit c every day after about 6dpo.
- I have an apple watch and used that to monitor my HRV - on days it was low I prioritised decreasing my stress (walks in nature, massage chair, meditation) over productivity. In general I took more of an attitude of doing well enough each day for work, rather than doing my best. I didn’t work late into the evening or at weekends even if I’d had an unproductive or distracted morning.
- I also prioritised good sleep in the tww. I wfh so if I had not had a good 8 hours then I slept in a bit more or took a lunchtime nap.
- It was my third cycle of zero caffeine.
- It was my second cycle of guafen… can’t spell it, the cough medicine stuff.
I kept doing all the things I previously did: prenatal vitamins, coq10, omega 3, nutritious food, no/low alcohol, evening primrose before ovulation and bromelain supplement post ovulation.
