Spotting around ovulation time?

Hi all,

I'm TTC #2 and had some light spotting when I wiped this morning. I was due to ovulate yesterday but am away on holiday so haven't been tracking or using sticks just the app. I hoped it may be implantation bleeding but then have read that should be much later (7-10 days PO). Anyone had bleeding like this before?

Hi OP. I have experienced spotting at ovulation on some cycles x

Fairy0708 · 21/03/2024 02:57

Happened to me once a few days before ovulation. Only that one time and never again. No idea why!

Thanks for the replies. It's turned it's really heavy bleeding now so I'm assuming it's something else like only a 2 week cycle or didn't ovulate or something, much more like a period so I don't know.

I've had odd cycles for a while now but usually longer at 5 weeks rather than 4 so this is all very odd. I did have a polyp a while ago but it had gone by the time I had a second scan so possibly something similar? Or my body saying it's too old to have another :(

I’ve had the exact same thing this month dawn. Bleeding at around 2-3 dpo . My LH sticks are showing high all the time and they have given me several ovulation dates on the app so I don’t know where I am. I’m in the queue for testing and had almighty backache and stomach each last two days but ok today. Very very faint line /evap yesterday but seems to have gone and either 6 dpo or 1 day late app doesn’t seem to know. Have no clue what’s going on …

So strange isn't it? I was away on holiday when it started and started to get excited that it was implantation bleeding at first but then read that would be much later and it became really heavy on the way home. It's so bad I have to use maternity pads. This was normal for me for a while and I had a scan which showed a polyp but by the time I went for the more detailed scan it wasn't showing anymore.

Drs have only suggested hormone treatment (the pill, injection etc) but I would really like another. My periods still haven't settled at all since having my DS who is now 20 months. I've been trying to stay relaxed and hope it happens with timing etc but think I'm going to try testing for ovulation etc just to understand what's going on with my body. I had a blood test too which didn't show any indicators for being peri menopausal so it's not that either.

Yes same here all ok for that side. I was the same got excited as was brown /light pink like implantation.
tests so far the doctors think I have endometriosis and adenomyosis as well as ovarian cysts but still awaiting a scan and have been refused 3 times…. So waiting for that but heard the wait is 5 years for treatment for ending so hoping not. I’m hoping that’s not the case as that’s way too long for my age.
still no period though but leaving it a couple of days now as driving myself insane .
hope you get some answers to

Hi OP, sorry to hear this, I know how disappointing it is... I have mid cycle bleeding since entering my 30s and have never conceived, been trying for a while. Fingers crossed you're still in this month but just wanted to say you should prob tell your doctor about this mid cycle bleeding as it might be ok but can also be a symptom for various things. My scans and smear all came back ok but I had heavy mid cycle bleeding recently during a month that I also had a fertility blood test and my progesterone was abnormally low which does cause mid cycle bleeds (and may explain difficulty TTC) x

DawnWW · 23/03/2024 15:04

@m00ngirl that's helpful thank you. My Drs did a blood test a while ago before the scans and have been fairly useless to be honest but if I have more problems I'll try going back. I do have a beautiful boy who's 20 months that we struggled to conceive with for years then it happened naturally while waiting for an ivf appointment we had booked privately. He's our little miracle and I know every day how lucky I am to have him but even TTC aside I'm having so much pain, cramping, bleeding and problems throughout the month I think that somethings not right. Was just told I have bad ovulation cramps then pre post period cramps but I'm literally in bed with the pain and need to use maternity pads when bleeding. I never had this before my DS
