Cycle getting shorter, periods longer

Since having my child (2 years ago now) my cycles have been a bit irregularly, and now seem to be getting shorter and my periods longer. I have PCOS but it’s well controlled with metformin and myo inositol, and before having my child my cycle was 30 days with a 7 day (relatively heavy) period every month exactly.

my cycle is getting shorter but unpredictable (26 days this month) and my periods are getting annoyingly long - 10-14 days. I seem to have a little period then a couple of days of nothing then my proper period, every month.

I feel like I’m on my period all the time! Has anyone else found this after having a child?

I am 35 and seem to be ovulating (can tell by the discharge) and have tried going to the GP. They said all they can do is put me on the pill which I don’t really want as we want to start trying for another baby soon.
