Cycle day 59…negative tests.. what is going on?

Hey all, looking for some advice and reassurance.

I’m currently CD 59 since my last period in January. I had my copper IUD removed in May 2023 and we have been TTC since then but I would say we’re been “properly” trying since October.

My periods have been normal in the sense of I get them every month or so, usually every 30-35 days. I had one instance between July-August where it was 50. DH and I really thought Jan/Feb was our cycle. We did the SMEP and we were so on it! I was so hopefully but I still haven’t gotten my period. I’ve taken pregnancy tests, all are negative. I’ve spoken to the GP and had blood tests, all are normal. I don’t have any symptoms that would make be think I have PCOS.

I’m really at a loss and just don’t even know when we should be having sex to maximise chances now. Has anyone been through similar? Is there any way I can just make my period arrive?

Hey @Limmers14 I am in a similar position at the moment, so I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you. But I had what I think was my last period new year. It was very light for me as it was only 2 days and most of it I didn't have to use anything. I thought I ovulated mid-Jan but all tests at the end of it were negative so I started using OPKs (wish I had start using from the start to be honest) and seemed to get a peak on 23rd Feb (CD53). I am now 21DPO (CD75) from this date and completely negative with no sign of AF.

I have been having lots of weird cramping for me as I normally only cramp when I'm on. I've also had some weird headaches for me too, random heartburn, bloating, nausea and a real heaviness in my uterus which also feels a bit fuzzy from time to time.

This is our first cycle trying for our first so I have no idea how it feels to be pregnant.

Could you not ask for a scan? There is another lady on here in the same situation. She never got a positive with her first and was only confirmed when she had a scan.

If you/they are sure you're not pregnant, I am sure there is something you can take to bring on AF.

Fingers crossed we both get an answer soon x x

Hi @Limmers14, I’m in a very similar situation! I had my implant out exactly a year ago and cycles normalised pretty quickly (also about 30-35 days). I had a rogue 47 day cycle around October but went back to normal again. I had my period as expected in January and then a random week long bleed a week after it had finished - and then no ovulation.

Currently on CD64 and I had a positive OPK on CD62 and my BBT has risen, and looks like I’ve now ovulated, so would expect AF in the next two weeks or so.

I also had blood tests which came back normal and had a transvaginal ultrasound today and they told me everything looked normal. I paid for AMH privately and that also looks okay.

I‘m hoping it’s just a blip and things get back to normal soon. But just wanted to share so you don’t feel alone, as I’ve been obsessively googling for weeks now! 🩷

Thanks @BeckyPfromLeeds and @NHT. It’s reassuring to know I’m not alone. The doctor said to only come back if I still don’t have my period in a few weeks. I need to get in contact with my health insurance so see if I can access anything through them

Hey @Limmers14 How is it going? Any news?

Nothing new for me. No BFP or AF. I still have a fullness and cramps and I've also been having some shooting pains in my right boob (only the one boob though!!) So not sure if that means anything 🤔

I think I will get in touch with my GP by the end of the week but I know they will just fob me off saying it is my age (42) and probably peri-menopause.

Fingers crossed for you x x

Hey @BeckyPfromLeeds, nothing from me. I’m on CD65, BFN and just feel bloated. I think I will also go back to the GP soon if nothing happens. I’m 33, this is the longest cycle I’ve ever had! The only weird thing that’s happening is when we have sex, there’s like a weird feeling in my cervix - like all the senses aren’t there or it’s vibrating? It sounds weird, I’m not sure how to describe it tbh

@Limmers14 I've had some long ones before but I know that there has been some reason that my ovulation has been delayed, normally some sort of illness. I have attached my cycle lengths.

I still have no sign of AF and still cramping. I also still have a weird dull feeling in my uterus, is this how pregnancy feels? I have never been pregnant so I have no idea.

I'm deffo gonna give the GP a call.

How are you doing today? Any updates on your side X x

Day 66 and still nothing, I’ve also had random cramps in my lower left abdomen and just feel bloated. Could also be because I went into the office yesterday and had a lot of coffee 😂

Yeah definitely call your GP again. I’m going on holiday tomorrow so if I don’t get it while I’m away, going to have to think about what’s next!
