Myself and partner have decided to try for our first child.

feeling a bit daunted and overwhelmed with what i should and shouldn’t be doing and what are the best things to do to try and conceive I.e. what to eat, vitamins, ovulation and how to track, when to test, staying positive, when to seek medical advice. God there’s a lot of questions ey? 🤣🤣

If you're just starting out and your under age 33ish then I would just start by having sex every 2-3 days from the day after your period ends and take it from there

Just folic acid needed whilst you're trying, and any standard multivitamin

@SouthwestSis hey there. I'm 37 in a few months, i'm 8 weeks pregnant with our first baby. We got pregnant very quickly after starting to try. My husband and I didn't do anything massively special - but I did prioritise : taking a conception multivitamin for a few months before starting to try, and I also tracked my cycle and cervical mucus more closely to get a feel of my cycle length and estimating ovulation. Just to get to know myself better. I ate a mostly pretty balanced diet and went to the gym. So I guess I just focussed on wellbeing and knowing my body. My husband carried on as normal, he loves a takeaway. I used ovulation sticks the month we conceived but I found that a bit confusing and stressful so I agree with what the previous poster who responded to you said - sex 2 - 3 times a day covers you well. Try not to get stressed out - I think the more relaxed you are the better. In reality I'll never know if my healthy habits had an impact, and having said that I was still overweight at the point of conception. I feel lucky for it to have happened so fast. Folic acid is a must though. Wishing you all the best of luck 😊

Just for balance I’m 37 and have been TTC nearly a year with a loss in between. I conceived my first at age 26 first month trying. It’s just a game of luck. You could do everything ‘right’ and still take a while. It’s normal for it to take up to a year at least. I would just trying and enjoy it if you can, try not to get too obsessed (it’s hard!!)
