Faint line or evap?

Hi all,I would like to get your opinion on this test. I am 7 days late and been TTC for more than 2 years so please I would need you to be as honest as you can (it’s difficult to accept but false hope is def worse for us after many failures). I took the test and seemed negative so left it there and forgot about it. One hour later I picked it up again and it showed this second line. I am afraid it is just evap line. What do you think? Thanks Very much!

I can see a second line! Congratulations OP 🙌🏽

I'm sorry to say but if you've left it for an hour it'll be an evap line.

You need to retest and then throw the test away after the time period is up. How many DPO are you?

Thanks! I will retest tomorrow - I am 3 weeks post ovulation. (I.e 1 week late)

If you're confident about ovulation dates that's definitely an evap sorry OP. You'd have an almost instant strong second line by that many days DPO

I am sorry you've been on such a long TTC journey.

Obviously, no one here can tell you for certain. But if you are a week late and it didn't show up in the initial window, I would be very very cautious about getting your hopes up.

I have been TTC for over a year now and am a compulsive tester. Evap lines are very rare, but they defo do happen sometimes. I've had it happen a couple of times and they can be heartbreaking. I've also got pregnant a couple of times and when testing early the line can show up like that - very faint and only after some time. But by time I've been a week late it would be a very solid dark line coming up instantly.

Everyone is different and will have different hormones levels, etc. So all you can do is test tomorrow again and see what is there (and throw away after 10 mins if nothing is there!).

Good luck in your journey!

Could be either, you should take another test , it should really come up as a strong line within 5 mins at 7 days late

If you're 100% sure of your ovulation date it's a light line for so long past your period due date so take another.

Thank you- I tested again and the line came up after 2 minutes but it is very faint. I think it is most likely a chemical.. thanks for the advice anyways!

As someone who didn't ever get a strong line until I was 6 weeks pregnant ( a lot of women don't ) if even a ridiculously faint line appeared after two minutes, it's very likely it's positive. A line is a line. 😊 Give it a few days and use a digital.
