Cycle after miscarriage

My period finally came back after my miscarriage & D&C last year. We've been TTC for the last 3 months but my cycles are all wonky and I'm concerned that I'm not even ovulating. I'm now 40. I never see a positive OPK despite testing multiple times a day and temping I just can't get on with.

Those with the same situation, did you contact the GP and get tested? What was the outcome? Is perimenopause a concern for anyone?

I'm currently on CD38, consistent bfns, and no sign of AF. I'm usually 32/33 days, or at least I was pre-miscarriage. It's all so pressured now I'm getting on a bit, but I desperately want a sibling for my 2 year old.

Hi OP, similar happened to me.
I finally got my BFP on cycle day 44! This is 3 months post MC. I was tracking ovulation after my last AF, but gave up as they weren’t getting positive.
Unfortunately cycles seem to go haywire for a while. I fully sympathise, I was driving myself crazy

So you only just got your bfp this late in your cycle? I take it you've been dtd all through the month to catch the likely late ovulation?

Thanks @Quintina Yeah that’s right, I’m presuming I ovulated mega late because of the MC messing things up a bit. I just dtd every 2-3 days since my period in the hope it would work. It got very tiring & scheduled, but seemed to have worked

You definitely covered all the bases, that's the best way if it's all a bit unknown/you're not using opks/temping etc.

You just get a bit disheartened, like your body is not aligned with what your brain wants.

I'm not sure we want to try this month, as it would mean another December baby, and we already have a son born 28/12/24... a rather awkward birthday.

I get it completely. I was feeling so down about it. I didn’t understand why my cycle was so long. Most things I’d read on here about people TTC after loss had got back into a cycle quite quickly.

Yeah I had medical management of my MC.
I hope things get into a more normal type of rhythm soon
