Fertility testing in your 20s

Not sure if anyone else feels like this but this is the first time in life actually ttc and I’m scared.

Although nothing has happened yet I’m just scared that this may be a difficult journey and I don’t think it’s something I can do. I’m in my mid 20s so it may be an irrational way to be thinking but I’ve just been thinking circling the same thoughts.

what are your thoughts on early testing and has anyone done it

How long have you been TTC?

Depends how long you've been trying. Up to a year is normal, so if you're both in your 20s and have a generally healthy lifestyle then I really wouldn't worry. You can try lifestyle improvements like stop alcohol/smoking, more exercise etc. And if you have cycles that are irregular, it can help to do ovulation tests, as you can really only get pregnant a few days a month. I personally don't think early testing is helpful at your age, and if there's no known health issues. It puts too much stress and pressure on from the start, when most likely it'll happen soon.

Your GP won't do any testing until you have TTC 12mths- unless you have medical conditions you think might cause you issues? You could buy the book 'It start with an egg' which is handy for tips which might help. Start folic acid, get healthy etc. Best of luck.

Wouldnt bother at that age.
But consider whether your cycles are irregular.
10% have pcos for eg.
