Hello fellow mumsnetters

Flashing smiley clear blue tests CD12-14 & solid smiley CD15. I kept using to watch the tail off.

CD20 flashing smileys started again and it’s now CD24 and I’ve had flashing smilies every day since!!!! Huh??? I’m now CD24 & my test this morning was another flashing smiley….

Cycles are usually 30-33 days long.

Why did you keep using it? You're meant to stop after the static smiley. The clearblue tests don't measure any kind of tail off, that's just not how they are designed.

The flashing smiley shows your oestrogen is higher than base level, this happens for lots of reasons and most likely doesn't mean anything. The static smiley measures LH increasing which shows you're likely to ovulate in the next 24-48hrs.

I have hormonal imbalances so my GP advised me to continue using the tests to watch the surge drop to ensure it was finished. Which it did do & went back down to a blank circle. Just unusual for me to re-surge. Wondering if potentially I didn’t release an egg first time so my body tried again. X

@DairyIntolerantBaby if you're looking for if you have a second peak I'd say use the regular sticks and not the clearblue as you'll get better information about your LH peaks from those. They're pretty cheap so you could do both if you wanted 😊

If you want even more information check out Mira - it's not cheap but it gives you a numerical value of several different hormones which gives you a much more detailed picture.
