Hi all,

I'll try to keep this short but looking for advice on any supplements I can take to help with conception or cycles? Struggling to conceive #2 and after an early loss last year my cycles have gone haywire and very painful. Drs checked and nothing wrong and not peri menopausal.

I've been taking pre conception multi vits and am going to start taking my temp regularly to try to track ovulation better but would love any advice on anything else I can do or take please to help. I'm nearly 41 and my husband is 47 so worrying about time running out.

Are the ovulation sticks worth it? Or is temp alone ok as in indicator? I don't want my husband to feel too much pressure - even taking temp last time stressed him out. Thanks for any advice

Hi @hopefullyTTC2x

I am so sorry to hear of your loss 😞 I also had an early loss last year and am also struggling to conceive. I am on letrozole to help me ovulate.

Vitamin wise I think taking the pre conception multi vitamin is good.

Temping is good for confirming ovulation but prior to I would definitely use some ovulation tests as they pick up your LH surge and then you ovulate anywhere from 12-36hrs after the surge. Temping would then confirm. If you only temp you would only see when you ovulated which could possibly be too late for ttc.

The vitamins I take are methofolate in a b complex supplement, vitamin D3 & K2 and I also started CoQ10 to help my egg health incase we end up needing ivf at the end of our medicated cycles.

Folic acid will be in the pre conception vit…..But my husband did some research into folic acid- it is actually synthetic version of methofolate, so around half of us our body’s cannot turn folic acid into methofolate so therefore we do not absorb it. Methofolate is what our body turn it into anyway so better to consume the methofolate. Hope that makes sense, he was so good at explaining it to me, maybe have a wee look into it?

I hope some of this might help a little, good luck ☺️

@hopefullyTTC2x I hope it has been helpful, I know it’s really hard😞 hope your cycles start working out into a better pattern, the ovulation test are good, I like using the easy@home from Amazon they have always been reliable for me. And they are cheap lol 😂

wishing you all the best and lots of sticky baby dust ✨ xx
