OK, I am hoping to be a surrogate for my friend, and plan to start trying to concieve for them the cycle after next (about 5 weeks away now i think) so i have been cycling for a few months now (since dec i think) and only using cheapy tests that i got off ebay. My friend got me some clearblue digital tests just a day late this cycle just gone. i have 13 tests left to be able to use without having to ask for more.....when i was on the cheapie tests i was on a 30 day cycle, with ovulation peaking on day 15 and 16 of the cycle.

Last cycle the cheapies said i ovulated on day 14 and not day 13 or 15.... i got the digital tests on day 15 and it was too late.

Any tips to help me get it right? and how to better predict when i should do inseminations?....they will be travelling from leeds to blackpool (about 1hr 45mins in the car) for insems. And we plan to insem the 2 days i ovulate and once just after for luck.... will this be right? help me....never had to cycle with my own, both were surprise babies....so i need lots of advice and tips!!

Sorry, I was going to reply earlier but I got confused by your post. I am not sure what days you are getting your + OPK's?

Are you spotting other OV symptoms as well - such as egg white cervical mucous or cervical position? There are threads for those temping here as well but I don't.

As far as I know, OPK's are only useful if you have a very stable cycle and they can still be confusing!

The most useful time for insemination (I think) is the day before and the day of ovulation. Any attempts after that would simply be back-up in case of late ovulation.

Once you get your surge on the OPK's you most likely OV 12-36 hours later. Watch out for your CM drying up as this is an indicator that OV has occured, and this will give you an idea of how soon after +ve OPK you actually ovulate.

Sorry if that is more confusing.
