Weird Symptoms

Sorry if this is weird, but I don’t know who to ask, and Google isn’t all that clear.

This month, I had sex two days before I was due to ovulate, and on the day of ovulation itself (according to my period tracker). Since the day of ovulation, and for the last couple of days since, I have had cramping, and nausea, along with light headedness. (If my tracker is right, I’m about 2-3 DPO).

Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be going on? Should I be worried? Is it a good sign? I honestly don’t know what to think. We’ve never seriously tried before, and after my miscarriage, I’m so scared to get my hopes up, incase it’s just another bit of bad news.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

It’s unlikely you would experience any symptoms at
only 2-3 dpo. It might be that you’re feeling worried about it and have a heightened sense at the moment about any body changes. You may also be coming down with something.
I’m sorry for your loss 🤍 I’d try keep yourself busy and either take an early detection test 4 days before your period is due or hold off to see if your period arrives.
Hope it’s good news for you this month!

Thank you so much.
I am avoiding testing for as long as possible. I don’t want to get my hopes up.

I’m just still so new to this. There’s so much I need to learn.

What period tracker are you using? If you’re wanting to check your ovulation then maybe best to try some ovulation tests- whenever you’re ready- no rush! I used a period tracker which told me my ovulation date but when I started to test ovulation I found the app was completely wrong, it just made up a date based on an algorithm of a typical woman. My ovulation dates actually changed each month too, some months I ovulated very early and others late so I’d have missed it completely if I only relied on the app.

Take your time with it all and go at your own pace, I often find testing early and doing ovulation kits made me more stressed!

I’m currently using Flo as it seems more accurate than ones I’ve used before. It seems to be more consistent.

The only reason I haven’t bought ovulation tests is cos I don’t want to obsess over it too much and I feel since I’m ND I would get obsessive if I started to test for ovulation. I tend to fall down the rabbit hole with stuff like that and it’s hard for me to get out of the cycle and the intrusive thoughts.

Last month when I was getting symptoms, I tested two days before my period was due, and two days after, but they were BFN.

I used Flo too , it’s a good app but it was completely wrong with my ovulation dates and I know others have found it to be incorrect too.

Do what’s best for you but just dtd as often as you can throughout the whole month is the best! Don’t rely on what the flo app says just incase it’s getting your dates wrong.

Also remember that pregnancy and period symptoms are actually very similar so don’t get yourself too caught up with it all.

Thank you ☺️

I’m nowhere near my period though, so doubt it’s my period. My last one was only about 17 days ago, so won’t be due for a good 11-13 days as my cycle is between 28-30 days.

Maybe I’m getting sick like a previous poster suggested? Either way, it’s driving me mental feeling so rough haha!

After you ovulate your oestrogen immediately plummets and progesterone quickly rises, so it could be a reaction to that. Early pregnancy symptoms are the same as post-ovulation symptoms for around the first 6–10 days, so it's hard to tell until you're closer to your period. I get the questioning though – I've been hypersensitive to any and all symptoms since starting TTC this time, and the weirdness my body goes through during each cycles is a ride!

I didn’t know this. This is really good information to know.

I’m definitely being a bit sensitive at the moment.

I hope you get your BFP this month, OP.
But be cautious about thinking you're getting early pregnancy symptoms at this point. It's not possible.

You can test in about 8 - 10 days. All the best!

Trying not to pin all my hopes on it, but we shall see. Deffo gonna avoid testing until at least 12DPO. Last time I was pregnant I had a strong positive at that point.

Update - I am pregnant!
Got a BFP @ 11 DPO.
Almost 6 weeks now.

Turns out, they must have been symptoms of conception!
