TTC help please! I’m have Hashimotos hypothyroidism, had a miscarriage in July 23 (D&C) and no luck conceiving again. 28day cycles and OPKs suggest Ovulation is around day 17/18. This cycle I had LH, FSH and 21day Progesterone tests, results were:
LH 3.7 I/UL (1.5-13 range)
FSH 6.6 I/UL (2.5-10 range)
Serum testosterone 1.9 nmol/L (0-2.6 range)
Free Androgen 2.5 (0-7 range)
Progesterone 45.8 nmol/L (13.1-46.3 range)
Latest TSH is 0.02 (0.20-4.5 range) and T4 17.7 (range 7-17) - doctor isn’t worried about these looking slightly overmedicated as my symptoms have improved.
LH & FSH tests were done day 7 rather than 3, is this an issue?
Thought my shorter than average luteal phase might be an issue but progesterone results look good - am I missing something? What else could I be looking at? Thinking of getting an AMH test and retesting my thyroid T3 and antibodies. If anyone has any advise or other ideas I’d really appreciate it.

so sorry for your loss ❤

also sorry that I don't have any insights to share, I'm in a similar position as I had a mc in June 2023 and haven't conceived since. I have a friend who took around a year to conceive after 2 mc's. I know it's not great to hear, but i think it can take time for your body to be ready again.

I'm not sure about the TSH - mine was slightly too high when i was tested but it was low on a 2nd test, yours is already very low so might be fine.

I did hertility tests and they said always test on day 3 - might be worth trying them if you want a second look? They are postal and about £150 i think. they also include the AMH in them too

Amh is a really poor measure of anything really. It doesn't mean anything. It's most useful in seeing how you respond to IVF but even then folicle count is more useful.

Bar your tsh the rest of your numbers look good and there doesn't seem to anything much on your side.

How short is your luteal phase? If under 10 days then some progesterone supplements might be useful esp if this measure was taken at the start of the cycle.

Are you having positive ovulstions tests and/or Basel temp measures??

Has your partner had any sperm checks. That's much easier and cheaper than the female tests so what would be my next port of call.

@chutney1 aw thank you, I’m so sorry for your loss too. I probably am being impatient, it’s just that if there is a problem I want to know sooner than later. It’s so hard isn’t it!

I actually ordered an AMH test but I’ll keep Hertility in mind if I need any more.

Hopefully my Thyroid levels all come back fine then it’ll rule that out.

Thank you so much for responding ☺️

@Bells3032 Thank you so much for responding. I’m using ovulation tests, I haven’t tried basal temp tracking yet. It looks like my luteal phase is 11 days, so not too bad but I was wondering if it still an issue? My progesterone test result seemed quite positive, I took it 7 days after ovulation. Would progesterone still help expend my luteal phase if it’s already at a good level? Sorry for all the questions, it’s all new to me 😬

11 days should be enough. Under 10 is generally seen as too short. Has your partner had any testing done?

chutney1 · 22/02/2024 13:28

Also - my luteal phase is usually 11/12 days (this month only 9!) but my progesterone was lower than yours - only 30-35. I've been worried about having low progesterone but i think yours looks quite good.

have you tried any supplements? After a lot of research I've just started a 100mg B6 daily - this might be worth looking into? It's supposed to be good for hormonal balance. I'm not sure of specific things for hashimotos though

@Bells3032 Not yet but we’ll look into it. Are the home kits fine or is it best to go to the doctors?

Best to go to a clinic as the home tests only show a yes or no number and doesn't show the normal forms or motility of them. You should be able to Google local clinics offering sperm testing..I think it was about £100 to go privately (but we are in London) or you can speak to your GP about getting the testing done

cinderellauk · 22/02/2024 22:06

@chutney1 I have got some B6 but I’m not very consistent with them. I’ll give them more of a try!

@Bells3032 thank you, I’ll look into what’s available in this area
