Hi everyone, I was just looking for a little bit of help regarding when I can take a test.
Someone with a bit more experience with this than me, as I'm not exactly tracking ovulation etc.
I am very irregular with my periods and have been since my first daughter. I can never really predict when they will start or when I ovulate. Except for the fact I get maybe a little bit of discomfort during ovulation.. I'd never really know when it happened.

My last period was January 28th, and it was only for one day.
Ovulation was meant to be 7th - 16th feb with the peak on 13th roughly.
Unprotected sex once on 9th feb.
Next period due to start feb 28th.
I had very light spotting & trace amounts of pink discharge yesterday and today. Not constantly. I thought maybe implantation bleeding??
So I'm due period in 8 days ?? It's going to be really difficult for me to wait until then to test. I'd love to take one now. Is that a bad idea ???

I think you can rest 6 days before your period starts but I don’t think it’s recommended. I had ivf and tested 3 days after the transfer and had a clear positive on a first response.

The early detection tests are from 5 days before a missed period so I would hold off for a couple of days and then test.

Hi, if you have irregular periods and you aren't tracking ovulation, how do you know when you ovulated and when your next period is due? If it's based on an app, I really wouldn't trust that, I have an irregular cycle and my app still tries to find a pattern when I input my cycle dates (and when I have positive OPKs) and it's just not possible.

Yes I'm going by the app. I'm very in tune with my hormones despite being quite irregular so I'm kind of able to gage where I am in my cycle going by that, sometimes it matches up with the app predictions.. sometimes not

I'd wait until day period is due. And assuming you are trying to get pregnant, would ovulation tests not help if you have irregular cycles?
