Tests not getting darker - 16dpo

Hi all, I've had ivf/ICSI and haven getting positive tests on cheapies and digital all week, however, the lines aren't progressing, and are super front on other tests. I'm 11 days past 5 day transfer, so essentially 16dpo and past extected period (which won't arrive as I'm on progesterone

I had a late implantation bleed at 14dpo- little pink at wiping. Could I just be a later implanter? I've been so anxious

Pics 1&2 - yesterday afternoon
Pic 3 - daily progression

Will add more

I think the line is getting darker.

KittyFantastica · 16/02/2024 17:05

I do think there is some progression in these tests, though it may not be as much as you were hoping to see. It could be a slow starter. I've been in the same place, and am still worried about it in my current pregnancy as I'm 17DPO and only just got my first properly progressive-looking slightly darker test result. Most of mine have been very faint until now no matter what band I've used.

Have you tried testing at different time of day? I've come to realise that my FMU is a lot more diluted than SMU and get much darker results from holding for a few hours after FMU and using what's left.

Thanks for your replies, @Olika and @KittyFantastica . Where I've been obsessed with testing I'm too scared now. I had my first through ivf in 2021 and the lines progressed much quicker. But I guess I had reliable FRER then!

Congrats on your positive @KittyFantastica ! Are you having any early symptoms?

Oh and yes - I'll test fmu and 2nd week on official test day Sunday I think - if the fmu gives me reason too! Desperately hope theres still a line and it's progressed. The thought of having to pay for s as no go through another transfer is soul destroying 😩

Thank you, I've not really had any symptoms at all. I'm 4w4d today and the only thing I've noticed is very, very mild breast soreness - but only in one boob!

If you do test again, try one with FMU and one with SMU and see if there is any difference. I've stopped testing with FMU now as I had no progression at all with it.

I've found it helpful to repeat 'Today I am pregnant and that is all that matters for now.' I didn't get a chance to even come to terms with my last pregnancy, it was over ten days after I found out. I never even said the words, "I'm pregnant." I was too scared to. It didn't stop the inevitable though. I've made sure to say it this time, even if the worst happens. I want to try and celebrate it one day at a time whatever happens.

I can't even imagine how exhausting the thought of another round of IVF looks, but try to focus on the current one.

Wishing you a strong and sticky bean ❤️

That is the mindset to have @KittyFantastica - thank you for reminding me! So sorry to hear of your loss - have every hope that this is the 1 for you ❤️

For anyone who comes across this post, it looks like I've lost the pregnancy. 12 days past 5 day transfer or 17dpo, and my cheapie lines have faded, and I'm no longer pregnant on digital. Back to ivf for me. Best of luck to anyone who sees this - I did see lots of hopeful success stories in my frantic online searches so don't five up hope x

Am so sorry to hear this. ❤️‍🩹

I'm so, so sorry sweetheart. Sending you a big, warm hug through the screen. I know the heartbreak of this all too well and I just wanted to say you're not alone at all. I'll keep following this thread in case you'd like company through the next bit as well.

Take each day as it comes, let yourself feel the emotions. I often look back on my positive tests from my chemical and remember it as best I can so I don't feel as though I have forgotten how much I wanted and loved it from the first positive.

Will you get much of a break before the next IVF cycle? Look after yourself.

MotherOfShihTzus · 17/02/2024 13:55

@KittyFantastica @Olika thank you for your kind words. We do have remaining (lesser quality) embryos at least, though I've been having immune protocol too at significant cost, which I think I'd have to start again from scratch, as well as the cost of the transfers and meds. Also getting brown spotting now so my last flicker of hope is gone. Hope I can report back with better news in the future- and best of luck on your own journeys :) every success I see gives me hope x
