TTC advice…fertility checks?

Hi all,

just after some advice. Do you have to be trying for a whole year before making an appointment at your GPs? After a year, what process does the doctor take? Do they send you off for a fertility check?

I have a son who is 16 months who we fell pregnant with quite quickly. Will this impact their decision to send us off for tests?

We haven’t reached that year yet, but I just want to prepare.

TIA!

I didn’t get much luck through the GP route. Waiting times were super long too.
if you can afford it, go private.
good luck x

You can ask sooner but likely they’ll say if you’re having regular cycles and no known health problems, it would be waiting a year. And having a child already, you won’t get IVF funded. A year to conceive is common so I really wouldn’t worry. Try lifestyle improvements in the meantime
