Hi, currently trying for #2 and not had much luck. Just looking for a bit of advice on what to do/what not to do to encourage a positive outcome.
I've got low iron at the minute and been prescribed ferrous sulphate to hopefully get my levels up but am aware this could cause problems with fertility 🙁

Was there anything you did different ahead of getting your BFP? Or is there anything you are currently doing? Has anyone found SMEP any good?

Looking for help ASAP as my last period started Friday 9th Feb and hopefully this is my last day as it seems to be finishing up 🤞🏻

I threw the kitchen sink at it first time round. Did SMEP as well as using pre-seed. After a few months of trying I got pregnant the first month of doing SMEP. The difference the month I conceived was the fact I kept going beyond ovulation date rather than stopping on or before ovulation.

As a side note, this is supposed to cause you to get pregnant with a boy and ‘trying’ before ovulation makes a girl. People will say that’s nonsense but I now have a boy and a girl and they both followed this rule 😂

Good luck!

I love your name, very relatable 🤣

Ooh so it seems promising then! I'll try it this cycle and see if there's any luck. Thank you ☺️

By 'trying before ovulation' do you been pre-ovulation only? Sorry I'm a bit dim 😅 it is really interesting to think about though!

I already have a boy and I think it was pure luck that I got pregnant that time, so we'll find out with any future babies lol

@2BabyOrNot2Baby yes, if you’d asked me last year I’d have been able to give you a way more detailed answer but ttc things escape your brain so quickly it seems 😂 I basically looked at the group on Facebook called the baby dust method and read stuff about it online (was in a magazine about a celeb doing it). As we had a boy already I thought obviously it would be nice to have one of each but I did plan to have three kids so I wasn’t as exact as some of the people on there. In the baby dust method you have to only try once (if I can remember rightly) and it’s maybe 2 days before ovulation? This is obviously hard to time unless ovulation is like clockwork so you know exactly when 2 days before is. Also bearing in mind that a high reading on an ovulation test usually indicates it’s happening in the next 24 hours rather than ‘now’ so you’d need to aim for 24 hours before getting a high reading really. We did that for 3 months but just wasn’t getting pregnant. I then decided to do a little bit from the shettles method which says you should ‘try’ every day before ovulation then stop (possibly the same 48 hours before, can’t remember exactly). So I think we did 3 days in a row then stopped and the timing did work out that it fell exactly 48 hours before. Got pregnant and was so intrigued to see what it would be. Suddenly being sick at 6 weeks (which didn’t happen til way later with my son) and I was half laughing thinking surely not 🤣 Sure enough, she is a girl!

I don’t think we’re going to end up having a third now due to a few complications so I am glad we tried it (whether you believe in it or not) 🙈 They are quite clear in the Facebook group though that it doesn’t ’make’ the baby a boy or girl, it only sways your chances somewhat. They do a whole load of crazy things to do with what they eat etc too but I didn’t do anything other than the timing!

Ah so sorry, haven't been on in a few days so only just seen your reply!

Oh I know! I feel like since trying for my first and now my second, I've forgotten everything so having to relearn 🤣

I've never even heard of the shettles method before, everyday really is a school day!

I'm sorry you've had some complications. Hope you and your family are well and okay ❤️ so happy you've got your boy and girl 🥰
Thank you for all your help, will definitely be having a look at the facebook group x
