Hi everyone. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a year. I have PCOS with sort-of regular periods between 30-33 days since I’ve been taking Metformin since May last year.

My period was 4 days late so I took a test just in case and it was negative. Then took another at 1 week late - negative again. Then took one when I would have been 2 weeks late and positive! I am still really shocked. I am worried though as dating from my last period I should be 6weeks+1 and these tests are too faint for my liking and from what I’ve seen of other peoples tests. I could be earlier than 6 weeks though because PCOS is tricky!! Anyone else had the same or similar?

@louise9422 With pcos your ovulation may well have been late, so try not to get hung up on being 6 weeks - if you can! These are definitely positive tests :) if you are concerned, you can order hcg bloods - not sure if GP will do them, but you can get them on medichecks. I suggested bloods instead of scan is it could be that it might be too early for scan you did ovulate late. Could try a digital 'how many weeks' test x

Thank you for your response! I think a blood test is best. I’ll look into it 🙂
