Faint Lines not progressing

Hello! Very new to this and wondering if anyone has had the same. Tested on day of missed period, then the next day and looked very much the same. Both these tests were in the afternoon so tested again next day with FMU and still very light, tried again this morning and not sure if lighter? Also did digital which says 1-2 weeks. Line tests also fading after a few hours? Has anyone had the same and gone on to have successful stick? I don’t know ovulation day but today would be 4 weeks 3 days if going by first day of last period. Just concerned re chemical pregnancy. Thanks!

Hi I’m currently having the exact same .. I have no idea why surely the lines should be darker. Have you had any darker lines ?

I've been in the same boat before and think I'm likely in it now too as my tests don't seem to be progressing. I'm almost 16DPO and my last Clearblue test yesterday looks like yours.

I do seem to get slightly better results with second morning urine after a 3 hour hold and evenings from around 7pm. It's not a huge amount, but there's a slight difference. Have you tried testing at different times to see if you get different results? I tried it because when I'm testing OPKs I have to use second morning urine to get strong enough lines for a peak!

Sorry to hear was it a chemical pregnancy? How long was it before you found out? I’m the same right now I’m currently 14dpo but have all faint tests , hoping for the best

KittyFantastica · 14/02/2024 22:25

Yes, it was, unfortunately. I had no idea what a chemical was then.

I started spotting on roughly 18DPO and bleeding on roughly 20DPO. I say roughly because I never actually confirmed when I ovulated that month, but know it had to be one of two days going by my trackers.

I had no idea about tests not darkening, I only looked into it because I'd had a few symptoms which all all suddenly disappeared and then noticed my tests all looked faint. After my symptoms went away, the tests started to get fainter until the bleeding started and then they were negative.

I haven't had any symptoms at all this time, so kept testing and I don't see much progression. It's a waiting game every time.

@KittyFantastica Aw sorry to hear it’s awful isn’t it. Think I’m currently having the same , 15dpo still no strong lines but getting faint positives and digital positives. Done tests this morning and very very faint once again

KittyFantastica · 15/02/2024 10:48

I'm so sorry you're going through this stressful time too @Nbaby.

Weirdly, I've found my tests do come out much darker with SMU or in the evening. I've attached a picture of today's at 16DPO. Number 1 I took at 7am and number 2 was at 10am. It's a stark difference.

I'd still say that this is likely a chemical I'm brewing up though because my digital said 1-2 weeks and it should be showing 2-3 now. I also did a Clearblue plus and the blue lines were so faint even though I tested with them same sample at test number 2 from above.

It's awful really because we all desperately hope for a BFP and, once I had my loss, I've been unable to trust any further ones.

@KittyFantastica so frustrating, we are having the exact same issues. Although I would say your lines are much darker than mine . My morning tests very faint, I get better results afternoon/evening just took a digital and it says 1-2 weeks also. I’m seeing much darker tests on posts that are around the same time I’m just hoping everyone’s different and it’ll still continue to progress and maybe I’m just early, might take another digital in a few days and hope 2-3 appears and at least that shows something is progressing?

Are you able to get a doctors appointment to get bloods done ? Maybe that might give you a little reassurance

1st and 2nd pic is my morning test (strip) barley noticeable and a few other tests from FMU
3rd pic is my test last night much stronger and obvious “+”
4th and 5th is digital I’ve took there now and 2 days ago
spent a fortune on tests to try put me at ease but seems to be making it worse

Bless you, yes very similar.

A lot of people suggest packing the tests away and focusing on just being pregnant in the here or now, but I don't find it helps me personally. I would rather know what direction I'm going in.

Unfortunately, my GP won't see you for pregnancy. It's self referral to EPU and midwife care, which I haven't even done yet as I don't think there's much point. My GP don't do tests on request, I'd have to pay private and I'm facing redundancy so no spare cash at the moment.

Stuffandthings11 · 15/02/2024 17:06

@NBaby, I’m really new to this so hopefully this is how I reply! No I did another test that afternoon just to see if it was time of day but same again. I haven’t tested today as thought I’d try a day off and test again tomorrow. I hope you’re doing ok.

@KittyFantastica I’m sorry to hear about the chemical pregnancy, that’s been my worry too. I don’t know when I ovulated as I wasn’t testing so all I have to go on is today would be 4 weeks 4 days. I really hope this time sticks for you

@KittyFantastica I’m sorry about redundancy, I hope all works out for the best! Yes same as you, I’ve been testing and testing as it helps my anxiety to know the situation. And like you, it’s so early I’d rather not involve the Dr yet if things aren’t going to progress. Really I’ve just no idea what I’m doing! It’s really nice to be able to come on here for advice

Thank you @Stuffandthings11, it's been a tough time for sure with bereavements since the new year too.

How are you doing now? I have everything crossed for you for a sticky bean.

Twdfn123 · 16/02/2024 12:54

Sad to say when my tests looked like that, it ended up being a chemical pregnancy and i bled a few days later. With both my successful pregnancies the lines got darker fairly quickly.

However it might not be the same for you, hopefully it isnt. Sadly its just a waiting game which i know isnt very helpful at the moment. all the best xx
