So I'm so new to this but just wanted to share my experience as I'm sure I'm not the only one. I've been useing OPKs for the first time this month. I followed the instructions waited 5 mins for it to develop in my pee then throw it in the bin. I had convinced myself they weren't peaking and it drove me crazy so I digged one out the bin and I found a peak one for either day 12 or 13. I started using the premom app after this so didnt have a picture of it. I showed my husband and he agrees it's positive. I think they may keep developing so I now stick them in a book and wait a few mins before taking photo on premom. I thought it was a bit gross to keep them but they only go in the bathroom where noone will see. I hope this helps others who are struggling with OPKs. Xxx

Hi OP, do you mean you were leaving it for 5 mins sitting in the urine? If so then yes it definitely won’t dry out of its still sitting in liquid.

Yes I was. Omg was I not soposed to 🤣. That's how I interpreted the instructions lol I really didn't know what I was doing.

Sorry @Choc29 but this really made me laugh! 😂 If it helps, last month I did a test at work, wrapped it up and binned it and then realised the picture I took of it hadn't taken - I had to run back to the toilets, hope nobody was there, and fish it out of the bin to get a photo. 😅

Some OPKs also say you should leave them for a full 10 minutes before reading them if you don't have a positive result after 5 minutes, so worth checking the instructions carefully.

Thanks so mutch. I can't believe I was doing them wrong all month 🤣.
