Anyone gotten pregnant like this?
Two days before predicted ovulation (the night before I got a peak clearblue smiley) my husband and I had sex but he was having trouble finishing so he only inserted as he was cuming. Some didn't make it in unfortunately due to timing. We couldn't do it on ovulation day or the day before. So the only chance we have is from the night before peak (o-2)

Anyone gotten pregnant from a lower amount of semen? Does it lower my chances if not all of it got in?

Any amount of semen in that general vicinity could result in pregnancy.

Could I suggest that while you're tracking ovulation, you don't keep your DH updated on the smiley situation. It puts a huge amount of pressure on the guy to perform and can result in situations like this.

Maybe just ensure you have sex every 3 days from cycle day 9 through to cycle day 18 depending doing on when you're due to ovulate.

It is still a possibility as any amount of semen can work. Like some others have suggested, I wouldn’t tell him when you’re close to ovulating and just try have sex as normal as possible. The pressure of it all might be getting to him.

I know TTC can be stressful but I would really urge you to calm down about it. Just your ‘it kills me’ shows how much pressure your poor husband is under. I also can’t help but feel sorry for him that you’ve posted online about it.

Any amount of semen can cause pregnancy. That’s all you need to know.

Gently, you need to calm down about this. It sounds way too much pressure on your poor husband. Chill out.

It doesn't take a huge whoosh of cum to get pregnant, it could be a tiny dribble. It's quite unpredictable so I would just be calm and have sex when you are both feeling romantic and it'll happen soon enough.

I agree with pp re not telling him when you get your smiley. We had a lot of miscarriages before that so pressure was definitely a factor in struggling to finish. The Smiley is good news for us but for my other half at least it was worry about whether I would get pregnant or not followed by worry about whether I’d stay pregnant or not.

I've never told my DH when I'm about to ovulate - it's one way to remove an extra layer of stress (for him, anyway!)...
