Hi guys I'm new here so I'm jus looking forward for some advice please. So I had my egg retrieval procedure done on the 26 of this month and today's marks 6 days past egg retrieval surgery. This morning I wake up brush my teeth and then go to the toilet and when I wipe I saw blood on the tissue paper so I'm wondering what happen I was told I would get my period in the next 2 weeks so I'm stressed out wondering if it's normal. Although im getting cramps too. Please anyone help me out to ease my mind. I will call my doctor tomorrow

Hello yes that's normal after egg retrieval. Mines came very soon after it and the nurse said it was perfectly fine. It's a withdrawal bleed, my next proper period never arrived until like 7 weeks after it 😅

Are you having a fresh or frozen transfer Infact?

NADIRARAM · 31/01/2024 13:57

What u did by the way
Cause im doin ivf for getting a child
And them didn't tell me anything yet I'm still waiting for them to call me back.. I don't know how many eggs them get nor if I'm doin a fresh transfer or a frozen transfer.. I don't know anything as yet

I was told how many eggs they retrieved as soon as I came round from the sedation.

I'm doing a frozen transfer as I was at risk from OHSS. You should have been told if it was fresh or frozen transfer because I was assumed you would start medication straight away for a fresh transfer.

Are you with a private clinic or NHS?

I am about to have my first transfer at the end of February.

What is the medication for? I have not heard of that one

NADIRARAM · 31/01/2024 16:45

Yeah it's a medication if I hv any infection after egg retrieval surgery.. End of February probably that will be the same time for my transfer too bec I call my doctor and she say the bleed is normal so I Don't hv to worry about that anymore and I'm with private hospital in Guyana

If I'm thinking right we have probably started same time I guess if ur transfer will be ending of February

I had my egg retrieval in November but had to wait a few months for my body to recover as I was at risk of over stimulating. Iv started the medication to down regulate for my transfer soon. Hope it all goes well for you!

NADIRARAM · 31/01/2024 17:04

Awww okk well thanks my dear hope it all goes well for u too
