Hi everyone,
Interested how accurate everyone finds the flo app for predicting the fertile period?

I dont want to BBT or use LH sticks as I think I will just obbsess but want to make sure I'm still roughly making the most out of the fertile week.

Thanks all!

I think it depends how often you want to dtd!
With my first baby I didn't track for the first cycle, just went off the Flo app. Tracked the next 2 months and turned out Flo was really off and I'd probably missed my main fertile days!

This time around I tracked the first couple of months just to gauge where my ovulation usually is. I'm on cycle 3 now and Flo is now pretty accurate but we've dtd lots to cover ourselves anyway.

If I wasn't able to dtd much then tracking is good to pinpoint ovulation. I was the same in not wanting to get obsessed but they are good just to get to know your body and cycle initially in my opinion.

Hi, using just an app and nothing else will not be accurate, unless you have a textbook cycle. By that I mean a 28 day cycle and ovulating on day 14. And presumably you won’t know when you ovulate if you don’t find out by using LH sticks or temping, unless you get a lot of ovulation symptoms.

For example I have generally a 29-30 day cycle but don’t ovulate until day 19-20. My Flo app would not know that unless I tell it and if I just took Flo’s word, my fertile window would be way off.

I've mostly used the Flo app and just having regular sex but had no joy since May last year. My cycles aren't that regular so makes predicting pretty difficult. I've recently moved to the Premom app and started logging BBT and OPKs there which is much easier to do on Premom than on Flo.

I am obsessing over the OPKs and spending more time on Mumsnet than I was before! But I think I need to understand my cycles more and see if I am actually ovulating, and if I have a short luteal phase etc. So I can come up with more of a plan to move forward. Once I've detected ovulation for a couple of cycles and learnt more about my cycle, like other symptoms I'll stop using the OPKs.
