Hi Tinkerbell2, I came off Dianette in Aug 2005, and had pretty normal cycles (even ovulated) the first two months. However, after than my PCOS reared its ugly head and it's been all over the place for a long time. I take ADs as well (Efexor), but I don't think it affects the cycle any. I really doubt it would affect the HPTs, there shouldn't be anything hormonal in there that would do it.

Not a terribly helpful answer I know, but I've heard plenty of people say it takes a bit of time to get regular again after you stop. Also depends if you had regular cycles before you went on the pill? If you didn't then, you probably won't now.

My doctor told me that women who have been on the pill a long time may experience a change in their cycles because over the years they can change naturally and by being on the pill you just wouldn't notice - hence mine reducing from 27 to 24. But you haven't said how long you've been on the pill and also many people do find that their first few periods once off the pill can be a bit eratic.

Yours is long but I wouldn't worry too much yet as with most combined pills you can take a while to get back to normal.
x

I was on the progesterone only pill. When i stopped taking it to ttc it was four months before i got a period (which lasted for about 10 days). Hope this helps

beaniesteve · 20/03/2008 19:56

ajh28 is that a mini-pill? (doh!)

I was on the minipill (noriday) and my periods came back straight away but I was late the first month and my doctor says even after 5 months I might still have the hormones in my body!
