Implantation Bleed

Hi All,

I suffered an early miscarriage in June and have had 2 chemical pregnancies since. I have been tracking ovulation and had positive tests on 10/01 and 11/01 however I started spotting on Saturday 20/01 which has been a very light pink to rust colour. This has been going on intermittently for 4 days now and I’ve read that implantation bleeding can only last 3 days max. I’m not due on until 29/01 so this is very early to be spotting. I was also given the Cyclogest pessaries this month as I appear to be estrogen dominant which may be a reason why I have suffered the miscarriages.
has anyone had anything similar or can provide some advice? I’m a bit of a nervous wreck at the moment! Thank you!!

Difficult to say what it was if I'm honest.

My understanding is that most women don't actually experience implantation bleeding. And those that do, the bleed is so insignificant its not always noticeable. If you imagine something the size of a poppy seed burying into the endometrial lining, it's not going to create a big mess.

Regardless, hope you get the outcome that you desire

I'm on cyclogest as well. My doctor went over all the side effects with me once of which was vaginal bleeding. Have you been taking the pessaries?

I had implantation bleeding on the day of my period when I was pregnant with my second son. It was truly horrific as I had 5 miscarriages beforehand. I was also on cyclogest pessaries 809mg per day and switched to inserting them the ‘back way’ rather than vaginally after this as I felt they irritated my cervix. Wishing you the best of luck x

Thanks for your message. Ah okay, I want aware of that. Yes i’m taking the pessaries, I began to take them rectally as I found they were less messy that way. Have you had any side effects from them?

@Amyjones86 thank you for your message. I’m sorry to hear about your miscarriages, it’s such a worry finding out you’re pregnant after miscarriage as it’s hard to not think it will happen again. My doctor won’t actually prescribe me 800mg as she thinks it’s too high. Did you have any issues getting the high dosage from your doctor and were you just put on these when pregnant? X

@Outliers thanks for your message. I did experience IB when I first fell pregnant although unfortunately that ended in a miscarriage at 5 weeks. There’s so many conflicting things online but I guess everyone’s bodies are so different and no pregnancy is the same. I tend to also bleed after smear tests so I may just be overly sensitive haha.

Hi @SunshineHope92 I was informed by the NHS consultant in the recurrent miscarriage clinic and my private consultant that there is no such thing as too high as it can do no harm, so both prescribed me 800mg. I also took high dose vitamin D and 150mg of aspirin daily. I hope you can get progesterone - it isn’t too expensive if you have to go private. Wishing you all the best X
