Missed pills help!

hi this is my first ever post so please no negative comments! I’m on the pill ( microgynon) and have been for 4 years since my daughter was born. I’ve recently missed about 3 pills and had a 2 day bleed which must be a withdrawal bleed. I did take 2 pills as soon as I realised I’d missed them! I’m just wondering what are my chances of ovulation if there is any at all? Anyone had something similar happen and been pregnant from this?

Hi OP, it takes 7 days for your ovaries to ‘wake up’ after stopping the pill, so you are unlikely to ovulate in that time, but there is a very slim chance. Depending on where you are in the pack, I would suggest skipping your break this month and starting another pack straight away.

Taking additional pills can cause bleeding as well.

You won't be protected from pregnancy as you've missed more than one pill. You'll need to use additional protection for seven days and if there are less than seven pills left in your pack you need to start the new pack without a break.

I've never seen the percentage risk of ovulation with missed pills. If you've had unprotected sex you may want to look at emergency contraception (ellaone had a five day window).
