You're 37 so after 6 months of trying, if you're in the UK you can visit the doctor about fertility. Your fertility will be declining now anyway, so it can take a bit longer, but I wouldn't panic just yet hun. x

Hi @Bex4567 i just commented on your other post. I’m 37 & I decided to go to a private fertility clinic before I started trying just to make sure I wasn’t wasting my time. I paid £400 for a fertility MOT which was brilliant. Might be worth thinking about doing that if you don’t want to wait for the NHS

Bex4567 · 21/01/2024 10:10

Thank-you I'm going next month I have an appointment at the doctors for basic tests...hopefully everything will be fine but I'm worried something bad is effecting it 😪that they might find it's horrible

@Bex4567 why are you assuming it’s you that has the problem & not your partner?

curliegirlie · 21/01/2024 10:27

6 months is no time, but as the PP said you can get the ball rolling with your GP if you have concerns. Are your cycles regular? Have you been tracking with OPK and BBT?

It can be a long hard slog, but there's a wide spectrum of normal in terms of time taken TTC. With DD1 at 32 we took 16 months (diagnosing a thyroid problem 10 months in) and DD2 at 35 took 12 months, both were natural conceptions in the end. Good luck!

My partner has a 9 year old so high chances it's not him and he's only 32 I'm 37

@Bex4567 you have children too though don't you? So equal chance of it being him if there's an issue (please take note that it's an if! There may be nothing wrong with either of you).

Bex4567 · 21/01/2024 11:28

Thank-you both.. its just so hard when people around u are getting pregnant aswdll u feel it won't happen for you....I have an appointment next month for basic tests so I guess I'll go from there

@Bex4567 if you're worried them I definitely recommend getting a private fertility MOT and a dye test done on your tubes. It'll give you knowledge which will help get rid of your worries x

Bex4567 · 21/01/2024 11:49

Yeah Thank-you just obv the cost I probably can't afford it to be honest

Hi, can I ask who you had your private fertility testing with? Thanks!

Simbabell88 · 21/01/2024 18:03

Similar to me been trying for 9months . I now am waiting for a scan to check I’m ok as I have a short cycle and low amh levels

Simbabell88 · 21/01/2024 18:03

I’m 35 you can start with your gp blood tests first

@DiaryOfaTTCer i just Google private fertility clinics in West Sussex & I looked at a few of their pricing & decided on the Agora in Brighton as they were slightly cheaper than the others & had great reviews
