Okay so this is a tricky one!
So my partner and I have been ttc for two years, I already have one child from a previous relationship. My partner has a 16mil sperm count with regular motility.

I just can’t get pregnant and I feel I’m not being listened to from the gp because I already have a child.
I’m worried because I had a termination 4 years ago following domestic violence with my previous partner and when I found out I was in a woman’s aid at the time. I ended up with an infection afterwards and was told to let the tissue that was left inside pass naturally. I’m now terrified that my tubes are blocked or damaged and I don’t know what to do! I’m in pain near enough every time we do the deed and occasionally get dizzy and feverish!
Again the gp won’t listen to me so I’m just scared and tbh I don’t know if I’m just better calling nhs 24 and seeing if they tell me to go to the hospital.

Any advice would be so appreciated❤️

Can you try a different GP?

Mmum27 · 20/01/2024 17:53

I’ve tried two at the practice but keep being told I’m fine but the only thing they’ve done is a smear test and an std test! It’s such a busy surgery so most of the time they are just trying to get you out the door x

Would you be able to have a scan at a private clinic?

Bex4567 · 20/01/2024 18:07

Surely if you've been trying for 2 years they would sent you for scans ect and do bloods I work in a gp and that's the basic they should do...

I think that's the plan ideally in the second half of the year mainly due to the fact that we are absolutely skint 😂x

I don't know if it's different where I live (Edinburgh) maybe they leave it a bit longer? Is there anything I can do like speak to someone higher up to get them to send me for tests? X

I'm not sure normally the go sends you for basic bloods and an ultrasound to check 5hings over

As some PP mention you could try to push for blood tests etc? We weren't getting pregnant for years after initial MC and they did blood tests and a scan. This was in England though.
We were still not getting pregnant so I did start taking Ubiquinol and Proceive Max and got pregnant 1.5 months later. I had a high BMI so I also fasted but I don't think that's recommended if you have healthy BMI.
