Postnatal depression second time round?

Just looking for experiences!
after having DS I suffered quite badly with post natal depression - he’ll be four soon and I’m now in a place where I’m thinking about baby number 2.

if you had postnatal depression with baby number 1 did you also have it with number 2?

thanks!

I didn’t
It was a whole different experience for me second time round.

I didn’t. It was completely different 2nd time. An absolute joy.

1st time still haunts me 15 years on.

Slightly different but I had horrific antenatal anxiety and depression with dc1 but was a different pwrson with dc2.

Following with interest as in exact same position.

I had it with DD1 but not with DD2.

When I was pregnant with DD2, as soon as my midwife clocked I’d had PND with DD1, I was referred to perinatal mental health team, but I (thankfully) did not need any help.

My second DD’s birth and newborn months were such a joy in comparison to the postnatal hellscape that was the aftermath of DD1’s arrival.
