Preg test in evening

Hi, my period is late and I feel quite nauseous today so I wanted to take a test. If I take it tonight around 6pm will that affect the result? Have heard it only works first thing AM. thanks all x

If your period is late then an even an evening test should provide an accurate result.

You have slightly more dilute urine in the evening, meaning less pregnancy hormone compared to in the morning.

if your period is already late, you will probably have quite high levels of pregnancy hormone already, so the timing is not as crucial.

However, if your test is negative, it would still be worth repeating with first morning urine to be sure.

mine still showed positive on day of missed period in evening on a weak urine. was stronger the next morning. If you only have one wait till morning but if you access to another id go for it

It’s more likely to work if you don’t drink anything for a few hours beforehand… you need nice strong wee.
That’s why it’s recommend in the morning because your wee is most concentrated.

HCG levels are higher in the evenings the old benefit to using morning urine is it's less diluted. Don't drink or wee for 3 hours before testing if early but as you are late you will be fine anyway.

How many days late are you? If only a couple I'd wait until the morning, personally. If several then do it tonight and you should have an accurate result.

The more time you leave it the more likely you are to see a line. Your wee just needs to be concentrated.

I always seem to get stronger lines in the evening not sure why 🤷‍♀️
