BV during pregnancy

Went to the GP today and been informed I have BV.

I've been looking online and the NHS website says there's a risk of miscarriage or premature birth.

GP has given antibiotics but said research is mixed on it to take while pregnant.

Has anyone had this while pregnant?

I'm only 4weeks 3 days.

Got to bump this because now been told I have a UTI and getting antibiotics for that too.

Has anyone taken antibiotics (2 different ones in salt pregnancy)

I'm really worried

Bacterial vaginosis causes no problems in the majority of pregnancies.

I vaguely recall having UTI during first pregnancy. You're more prone in first trimester due to a variety of reasons. I was overdue in the end. I can't recall if I had BV, but it's possible

You've caught it early by sounds of it, antibiotics work quickly so I wouldn't worry.

Try to keep hydrated. Urinating every so often helps to flush out foreign microbes colonising the urethra. Always pee after sex too.

Thank you!

My concern was taking 2 different antibiotics . Thought that was one too many in early pregnancy

You can treat bv with gel, maybe try that before trying antibiotics

@mamamia901 I'm 23 weeks. I think I might have BV too, may I ask which symptoms you have or did you find out by chance?
I'm not sure whether to ring GP or midwife tomorrow, as GPs tend to do everything over the phone (at least here) so I don't think I'd get an actual diagnosis, but would the midwife test me?
Thank you!
