Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year.
Would be great to hear from anyone else who is TTC at 40 (I'll be 41 in the summer). This will be baby no2; we had a bit of rocky time getting pregnant with our first squish; I had a miscarriage and then a chemical.
We are both pretty fit; and making a conscious effort to loose any unwanted pounds to make sure we are in the best possible shape to try again. In terms of vitamins, we both used the female/male pregnecare supplements last time and had no issues with them; due to my age (and husbands; he's 42) would anyone recommend the more pricy ones (proceive is one that keeps cropping up). Thanks in advance; and good luck to anyone TTC, it can be so draining so I'm sending you love.

Nothing here either!! Thinking of taking a bit of a break, getting healthier and losing weight and trying again in the winter.

Hi everyone, hope you are ok. Sorry for the radio silence. Quite a bit to update on. I found out I was pregnant again at the end of September, which we were thrilled about.
It hasn't been the easiest of first trimesters, my sickness has been horrendous, and I've experienced alot of discharge and had 2 very small bleeds. We've been seen by the EPU and had a couple of private scans and everything was looking great.
We had our dating scan yesterday; baby had a lovely strong heartbeat, and was very wiggly and generally looked lovely and healthy, we measured exactly where we thought we were (exactly 12 weeks); however they measured fluid on the back of their neck at 6.7mm which I know is very high. We've been referred to a specialist at a different hospital so we are just waiting for an appointment for a more detailed scan and possibly a CVS. They didn't give us anything remotely positive yesterday; and now we feel completely in limbo while we wait for our appointment to be confirmed. Sorry I'm not sharing positive news; I feel like a truck has hit me.

I had almost exactly the same experience on Nov 22 (good scan apart from a NT measurement of 6.3mm).

Blood tests the showed a 1 in 5 chance of Down’s syndrome (we were also higher for the other trisomies but I can’t remember the actual stats). We had another scan and CVS with fetal medicine and it wasn’t too bad - not a pleasant experience but it didn’t hurt. Unfortunately for us it wasn’t a good outcome and we had the diagnosis confirmed within a week. We then chose to tfmr.

There are lots of people going through this on the antenatal tests board and I went back through loads of old posts looking for positive outcomes - of which there are some!

If you need to message and ask any questions, please feel free to do so.

Hi ladies, do you mind if I jump on. Technically won't be 40 til next year but would love the support of those of similar age
We've decided to try for number 2.
Blessed to have a DS who's 5 months (ivf)

Figured there's no harm to keep trying naturally and if after 6 months nothing happens , given our ages and known fertility issues then we'll try and pursue ivf again .
