Early viability scan

Hi all,

I wanted to book an early scan and just wanted to know if anyone would recommend anywhere specific. This is mainly for peace of mind, I know I don't have to have it done but it's to rule out ectopic pregnancy, and makes sure pregnancy is in the right place.

The 2 that I know where I live are ultrasound direct and window to the womb.

Has anyone had good experience with either of those?

Prices are similar for both.

TIA

I have used window to the womb twice in different locations. They were brilliant, mine wasn’t good news on one occasion and when I took the notes from there to the EPAU, it turned out the woman who scanned me was actually a scanner there too which put my mind at ease for any future bookings with them too!

It depends where you are based but if you can try and find somewhere where they use sonographers from local hospitals. It's also good if you have any complications as they can refer you directly.

I've been told the chains (window to the womb etc) don't always use registered sonographers.

I used meet your miracle and using the same this time. Its down to the specific place though so try Google reviews for your locals. It's a pretty basic, quick service, they only give surface level information but you know the baby is in the right place, right size and good heart rate

I also have a window to womb and ultra sound.

I'm in south west and the sonographer at wtw isn't a certified sonographer. Both times (seperate pregnancies) I saw him and both were awful.. let's just say he wasn't fully sure on where the wand needed to go. Re scans are charged if no HB detected early - was told to test in 2 weeks or pay to come back in a week. He also failed to spot my friends second baby - I understand this isn't rare rare but was picked up at the hospital a day later due to bleeding.

Ultrasound direct however have been amazing. The local one to me is run by midwives and all certified sonographers. I've been, I don't know how times with both pregnancies and they're so so professional and kind. If no HB is detected due to being early, you'll be offered a free rescan a week later.

@babyonwayx Oh goodness! I booked with window to the womb this morning, I'll be cancelling and changing it to ultrasound direct tomorrow!!

The reviews for both are mixed where I am in the north west!

I'll be 6w+5d do you think that's ok? It says from 6 weeks.
