Pregnant…already??

Hi all,

I posted a couple months ago that I fell pregnant and sadly miscarried a few days after at between 4-6 weeks pregnant. First time trying and I was 39 at the time, now am 40 (turned just as I miscarried).

My period came back on Xmas eve, and we started trying Saturday (as we didn’t want to wait and the EPU advised to let my body have a menstrual cycle before trying). I was using ovulation tests to check when I was ovulating as soon as my period finished. Had two faint lines for Friday and Saturday and then a very definite line yesterday. I’ve read you can ovulate just a couple days after your period finished but didn’t believe it until I saw the test result! Also, just a side note, my periods have been all over the place since coming of Cerazette (POP) back in May.

I swear all day I’ve have the same pregnancy symptoms as last time. They’ve gradually become stronger as the evening has drawn in. My body has occasionally, in the past, manifested symptoms of illnesses that I’m convinced I may have, but only mildly. These symptoms are pretty strong.

I’ve got an upset tummy (same as when I conceived last time, just not as horrific as I was quite poorly last time due to the surge of hormones just didn’t know I was pregnant at the time), I’m super thirsty, have a persistent mild headache, feeling nauseated now and again, sore breasts when I took my bra off this evening to get into bed, and I have the period cramps that don’t really feel like a period but are in the same location as last time and feel the same as last time, only this evening the cramps are pretty sore and woken me up. I remember I felt weird laying on either side when in bed too.

Is it really possible I could be pregnant? These symptoms seem to be a really strong reaction for my body to manifest/fake as it’s never usually this powerful. I just feel so different again. But I’m really struggling to believe this is the real deal, so quickly!

Any helpful and kind, gentle advice would be greatly received.

Do you have a pic of the tests @FooFightingGal

Sorry to hear about your MC. I think following your unfortunate circumstance you are attempting to collate a number of natural and typical bodily sensations to provide an indication of early pregnancy.

In reality women can also experience all the listed symptoms right before their periods starts as their progesterone levels peak. (This continues to rise if you're pregnant).

If you ovulated Friday/ Saturday the embryo would not have even implanted yet, and would be several days from building hcg levels high enough to provoke symptoms. Even if you ovulated the same day as your period(which is incredibly unlikely) it would still be too early for a BFP + symptoms.

It's very rare that ovulation follows closely to your period, and there's a good reason for that. An embryo would struggle to attach to a shedding uterine line. And even ovulating right after period ends there would still be a risk as uterine walls may not be thick enough for the blastocyst to attach.

In conclusion, it's very unlikely. Though I hope it happens for you soon. Good luck

I forgot I took a test yesterday morning as well and that’s the last test you see that is even more prominent.

I must agree with what @Outliers has said. And looking at the tests you got darker line yesterday you ovulated yesterday or today.

Ok so I finish my period Thursday and ovulated in the last 24-36 hours and so that’s weird that I ovulated early, but could still potentially be pregnant even though it’s way too early to tell.

Ugh! This is all so confusing

After miscarriage it takes some time for your cycles to settle. As your periods started on 24th you are day 10 but you could have ovulated early. Personally I would keep testing until day 15 and then forget this cycle, or you could just forget testing and DTD every/every second day for a week and see what happens.

Girlfolk · 02/01/2024 10:05

Hi OP, if you're on day 10 of your cycle then I would say highly unlikely you would be pregnant. Your ovulation sticks look very close to peak but still wouldn't say that last test is quite positive yet, so wouldn't say you have ovulated yet, as you ovulate 24-48 hours after your peak test. Good luck :)

Looking at your tests, I would say your cramping is actually ovulation cramping and your last test is almost peak, so you'll probably ovulate today. Keep up with the baby dancing and then do a pregnancy test in 14 days time if you haven't came on. Fingers crossed!

Baby dancing 🤣 love it.

Thanks for all the advice.

Jeez, this baby trying gets tedious when you have fibromyalgia…I’m walking around like I’ve been riding a horse for a week 😂😭
