Line after time limit

Has anyone tested and then a line appears after the time limit that has colour and gone on to be positive? Tested and didn't appear to be a line, went out for 2 hours, came back and a second line was clearly visible and with colour. Don't know how long after. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and been pregnant? At this point we are happy either way and will re test in the am but just thought I'd see if this has happened to others.

Yes this happened to me, thought it must be an evap line but went and got a digital test to make sure and it came up positive. Do you know how many days dpo you are? It could just as likely be an evap line so I’d do another test either tomorrow with fmu if your period is late or wait until it is late and test again.

TTCnewbies · 29/12/2023 19:22

Thank you! So AF is due on Tuesday. I think I'm roughly 9/10/11DPO more likely 10 days. I can take a photo of the test later. Will test in am too.

I did a test before I went out for the night. It was negative. I went out and had a lovely, boozy night. The next morning, I cut my toenails over the bin and saw that the test had 2 lines. That was 22 years ago. She’s currently scoffing McDonalds on the sofa next to me!

Hopingforbetterluck · 29/12/2023 19:26

Ah ok so I’d definitely wait until AF is due to test and you’ll hopefully get a much clearer answer. I was 17dpo when it happened to me so thought it must be a chemical (it was on the back of three late losses in a row) but DD is 11 months and sleeping peacefully upstairs as we speak! Fingers crossed for you

Personally I would never trust a result after the specified time limit but hoping you get good news x

geminigalx · 29/12/2023 20:42

The first few days when I tested positive only came up after the time limit and they were only really really faint lines so I wasn't sure what to think, but they kept progressing every couple of days and then soon starting coming up within the time limit. Keep testing & fingers crossed for you!

Outliers · 29/12/2023 20:56

If it doesn't appear within first 10mins, I wouldn't trust it tbh.

Depends on the test of course. We all know about CB'sc evaps.

TTCnewbies · 29/12/2023 20:59

Thanks all. It is a boots 5 day early detection. I'm not going to be disappointed if it's not positive at this stage. Will test in the morning and see what that one says.

@TTCnewbies Yes! Yesterday. I created a thread about it because I was SOOOO confused. I got a BFP with a clearblue digital this morning. AF due this Tuesday.

TTCnewbies · 29/12/2023 21:49

Oh wow! I will test in the am.

@TTCnewbies I think you're going to get good news tomorrow. That's exactly how mine looked! Congratulations!!

TTCnewbies · 29/12/2023 22:06

Congratulations to you @coffeeandcake91

I will keep you posted. The only test I have is another from the same pack. Weirdly though I feel the exact same pre period cramps so I'm not convinced.

coffeeandcake91 · 29/12/2023 22:17

@TTCnewbies I do too!!! It's normal. I've literally spent the entire day researching the cramping. Period symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms are so similar, it's really hard to tell. Good luck to you though, and keep us posted!

TTCnewbies · 29/12/2023 22:31

@coffeeandcake91 I'll update you in the morning! I'm just hoping it'll be clear either way rather than out of the time limit this time.

This was this morning. Tbh very similar line to yesterday, no darker at all. Came up in about 4/ 5 mins. Instead of the 3 it suggests. I'm leaning towards indent.

Sorry it didn't attach earlier

Nope, that's definitely a proper line - congratulations!

coffeeandcake91 · 30/12/2023 09:48

I can see that line! 🎉🎉🎉

fancyfrogs · 30/12/2023 10:47

I would absolutely say that's positive!

TTCnewbies · 30/12/2023 14:08

Oh wow really? I am not sure I'll believe it until I get a few more tests / AF doesn't come. I feel as though it's on the way. Does everyone feel the same cramps?

OP posts:
coffeeandcake91 · 30/12/2023 14:23

I wouldn't be surprised if you get a "pregnant" on a CB early digital right now. The cramping is normal from what I've read :)

TTCnewbies · 30/12/2023 15:15

I think we will try to pick one up over the next few days and see!

My first pregnancy started with a flooded test that I gradually noticed went positive over the course of about 10 hours. Had no idea that such lines weren't to be trusted... but was obviously reliable in that case. I had implantation cramps and then round ligament pain over the first few weeks. All very worrying, but perfectly normal. The difficulty is that some normal early pregnancy symptoms are the same as signs that things aren't going so well. All you can do is take things day by day.

TTCnewbies · 31/12/2023 16:25

Thanks.

I still feel as though AF is on its way. I have not been able to pick up any tests yet. Earliest opportunity will be tomorrow afternoon, I'm not sure whether to waste a proper test on afternoon wee. So maybe I'll test Tues am.
