Hey ladies,

I know I am probably clutching at straws here... but is there any truth to ovulation sticks getting darker when a BFP is on the way? I did these two tests this afternoon (so not with FMU for the pregnancy test)🤔 I had a MMC at the beginning of October and had a D&C. Only our 2nd month back trying, but I get such bad anxiety leading up to my period and end up turning into a 'pee on a stick maniac'

Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

To be frank, you're wasting your time and money testing at this point.

Most people test negative at this stage, and regardless of whether you see a line or not, you would still do a number tests to confirm accuracy anyway.

Based on this logic, you're better off holding on a few more days instead of torturing yourself. Good luck either way

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 29/12/2023 17:55

I had positive ovulation tests when pregnant with DD2 but it was a stronger test line than control line rather than just faint. They’re not designed to test for pregnancy though so put the tests away and wait a few days before using a pregnancy test.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 29/12/2023 17:59

The ovulation test was taken at 13dpo and the pregnancy test was taken at 15dpo. I only took the ovulation test out of interest and had already had positive pregnancy tests.

@Outliers @BeingATwatItsABingThing @CatiaR Thanks Ladies 🙏🏼 Yep I need to step away from the tests haha! I'm getting my hubby to hide them until I'm due on now, otherwise I'm going to drive myself crazy!

Good plan. I know all about the temptation to test. I must have spent a small fortune on tests whilst TTC DD2.

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 29/12/2023 19:01

@BeingATwatItsABingThing I know right, the early testers are so expensive nowadays as well 🙏🏼 I am technically not due on till next Thursday according to my app anyway so the hubby hiding them will save us some pennies this month I'm sure 🙏🏼😮‍💨😂

I had to switch to cheapies to bring the cost down. I still have loads left.

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 02/01/2024 15:45

@BeingATwatItsABingThing I caved and took a 6 day early FRER yesterday morning which was negative..... then this afternoon I took this cheapy test (Don't ask me why) but do you see what I see? 😲

It's got to be an evap line (even though it has colour in person) surely!! As how can an expensive FRER show negative yesterday and this positive this afternoon with diluted wee 🙏🏼

Send help, I am sending myself crazy here! 🫢🫠😂

I can see it. Fingers crossed for you!

whomoon · 02/01/2024 18:53

I can see a faint line. I’d recommend getting the Boots early pregnancy tests, lines are much clearer on those. I had no doubt with mine at 10dpo

@whomoon Congratulations! That's a lovely clear line, yes I may pop out to grab one of those tomorrow, they are deffo not as expensive as FRER! ✨🙏🏼

Definitely a pink line there!

whomoon · 02/01/2024 21:58

Congratulations! There’s no doubt it’s getting darker.
I remember the excitement of seeing that line. Wishing you all the best and please update us!

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 02/01/2024 23:23

@BeingATwatItsABingThing @whomoon Thanks ladies 🙏🏼 Yes I'll keep you updated! Congrats again to you @whomoon ✨ keep me updated on your line progress too 🥰

@SunshineAndRainbows6 Thank you! I’m actually nearly 10 weeks now. This was my line progression at the time. The bottom was my line the day my period was due. I was very excited that it was so strong!

do you have an update today yet? x

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 03/01/2024 10:14

@whomoon Ooooh so exciting! 10 weeks already, flies by! They were deffo nice and strong lines 🤩 Have you had any scans yet? I know some people have them earlier?

Yes did another cheapy this morning, wasn't expecting much as I only did one last night and I know it takes a while for the hormones to build up but I am pleased with my lines 🙏🏼 I was convinced I was out this month so a couple days ago I ordered a Clear blue pack with two earlys and a digital in for next month, plus some cheap stick tests! They should be arriving tomorrow so I might as well do those as I have already brought them haha! 😂

That is a clear line on the bottom test! Congratulations! It really does go fast. It feels like 5 minutes ago I tested positive and now I’m 26+5.

whomoon · 03/01/2024 10:34

@SunshineAndRainbows6 It really does fly! I made a conscious effort at the beginning to enjoy every minute of it, whilst subconsciously wishing away the weeks to my 12 week scan!
we had one early scan at 8w6d and I was measuring just one day behind. Baby had a strong heartbeat and it was wriggling away! The sonographer had to keep redoing the scan as I kept tensing from holding in tears of joy!!

Congratulations on your strong line this morning, that’s fantastic! I got two weeks indicator tests, I took one on 14dpo and then another a week later and it had moved to 2-3 weeks. That was very reassuring.

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 03/01/2024 10:48

@BeingATwatItsABingThing Thank you 🙏🏼 Oh my Lord! That's great, do you know what you're having!? 🤰🏻✨

@whomoon How lovely to see little one, I bet that was so nice 🥹🤰🏻 This will be our second bubba, we already have a son who will be 5 soon! We had a missed miscarriage in October and I had a D&C removal... I was so sick, had all the symptoms, booked in to have an early scan at 9 weeks so we could take our son and tell him... unfortunately we were told baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks 😞 (Luckily our little one didn't have a clue what was happening, so we didn't have to tell him)

I still feel like it isn't real.... I am so so so nervous things aren't going to go well again 🙏🏼 I can't even feel like I can get excited as I am a nervous wreck 😰 Just praying everything will be ok and we get our little rainbow 🌈🤰🏻✨

We’re having a boy. 🥰 We have two girls already so this will be a change and they are both so excited!

Sorry to hear about your MMC. 😔 Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you.

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 03/01/2024 17:42

@BeingATwatItsABingThing Awww how lovely, I can imagine how excited they are 👏🏻 Cannot wait to be able to tell our son ✨🥹 Thank you 🙏🏼 I am praying all will be well 😮‍💨🌈✨

I wasn’t sure how they’d take it. DD1 was 6 when we told her we were having DD2 and she cried. 😬 This time, they were both so excited. I wasn’t sure if DD2 would really understand as she was only just 3 when we told her. She completely does though. I brought them both to the private 16 week scan so they got to find out he is a boy with us. 🥰

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 03/01/2024 20:20

@BeingATwatItsABingThing Oh how lovely is that 🥰 What nice age gaps too 🙏🏼 I can't wait to tell our Son, him and his Daddy are obsessed with anything that has an engine haha! So we are planning on doing a gender reveal using their quad bikes so they can do a burnout at the same time with the coloured smoke 💨 As you can imagine the hubby is rather excited about it 😂✨ I would love one of each, but I will be super happy either way 🙏🏼

That sounds lovely! DD2 is also partial to anything with an engine so she’d have loved that.
