Line eyes please!

Been TTC with baby no2 for over a year. Early miscarriage in July & with slightly erratic periods for the past year. My period is now 5 days late, taken tests all week that look pretty negative. Taken this one this morning which originally looked negative so left it lying but just looked again after an hour & now see this faint line. Is this a faint positive or just bleeding from the dye?

I'd take another test. Results outside the specified time frame aren't reliable and shouldn't be counted.

@BodyKeepingScore thanks for your reply! I’ll maybe wait til tomorrow morning so I use my first urine. I know I didn’t get a positive pregnancy test with my 1st born until my period was 10 days late. I have had random
bouts of nausea & a heightened sense of smell which I’ve had every time I’ve been pregnant so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Looks like a typical Clear blue evap line. If you’re 5 days late it should be showing up quite quickly. Try a pink dye or ring your docs to ask for a blood test x

@cosylife i know it should come up quickly but with my first baby it took me 10days late to get a single positive line so I suppose I’m just holding on to some hope lol. I’ll take another tomorrow morning with a red dye

I think you're incorrectly calculating your ovulation window. What are you using to check this?

This doesn't look like a positive test to me.. I would think it's an evap line as it's grey-tinged.

Ahhh okay so the calendar method! I don't think it's being accurate for you, as it's impossible to not get a positive test until 24DPO. The latest a viable pregnancy can implant is 13dpo, and even then there's a 80% miscarriage rate that late, and then HCG takes 12-72 hours to Build up enough to come up on a test. Making the absolute latest date 17dpo. Which is 3 days late. Again this is using the absolute latest timeframes. In reality tests are very accurate (99%) at 14DPO, which is the day your period is due. As the vast majority of pregnancy's implant between 7-11DPO.

It sounds like the flo app is saying you ovulate a lot earlier than you actually are.
Do you use ovulation sticks? Clear blue advanced are spendy buy really good and easy to use.

@riverlodge90 yeah the calendar method, I just can’t spend the money on ovulation sticks unfortunately. My cycle has been really erratic since taking the Covid vaccine so it’s been hard to track correctly.

@Newmama29 ahhh I understand! Honestly the cheap £3 ones for 40 from eBay are just as accurate they're just more hassle as have to test 2x a day for most of the month until you've positive you've ovulated.

I really recommend the fertility friend app too which is free. You can add free info like cervical mucus, and chart your BBT. The thermometers again from eBay are a couple of quid.

@riverlodge90 thank you for all the advice! I do appreciate it. Although tbh, we have a pretty active sex life so pretty sure we’re not missing it every month even if it’s wrong on the app.

I second the one step ovulation sticks, dirt cheap and helped me, I have pcos. Take twice a day. Also I much prefer red dye tests like first response and deffo first wee of the day.
