Hey
I am a 30 year old women trying to conceive-
Currently trying to find a good IVF clinic - awaiting to see if I’m eligible on the NHS

Does anyone have any experience with IVF treatment at Guys Hospital ? NHS or private ?

  • how long did it take for your funding to be accepted?
  • what was the waiting times like ?
  • was you successful?
  • how did you find the doctors/consultants?
  • did the male partners BMI have to be included ?

I’d appreciate any response :)

We did ovulation induction at Guys in 2020 (NHS) and had it not been successful we would have moved to IVF. So i can't answer all your questions but i can say the waiting time was around 8months (but that included the first covid lockdown when services were suspended), although i imagine they have got worse since then. The facilities were lovely plus the location is obviously really convenient. We saw Dr Davinia White as she is a PCOS specialist, which was my issue, and she was really great - very sensible and practical. I really appreciated her approach.

I think i had to provide DH height and weight as part of the initial questionnaire? Not sure what they did with the info but as his was in the "normal" bracket it wouldn't have been an issue so they might not have mentioned it to us again.

Good luck with your treatment Flowers
