I have had a surge and peak 4 days ago after which I was testing negative had spotting yesterday. Tested again today and the test is almost positive. What is going on ?

This can happen, you can have a surge which is your body gearing up to ovulate but for some reason it could have failed and then tried again later which is what could be happening now. I’d BD for the next 3-4 days to increase your chances and if you’re not successful this month then look into BBT to confirm ovulation.
