Myself (25) and husband (26) have decided to start trying for our first.
I was just wondering if anyone has conceived before their ovulation date?
We DTD 3 days before ovulation but not over ovulation as we both were unwell, just trying to gauge our chances I guess 🤷
Any replies would be appreciated x

@AshIwan perhaps phrased incorrectly as you can't conceive 'before' you ovulate. Sperm can live for 5 days, so if the egg is there when there are some sperm left you absolutely can conceive. If you've just started, I would enjoy regular sex and not think too hard about everything. It can be a really rough road and it could happen very quickly so just enjoy these beginning months!

May be worth watching a few videos on YouTube to understand fundamentals of conception.

This will also support you in TTC.

You only conceive once you ovulate. But sperm can live 5 days so technically it's possible. at your age I'd just enjoy regular sex and not focus on ovulation days.

Sperm lives for up to 5 days, so yes it’s possible. Also are you tracking your ovulation or basing it on a generic app?

have regular sex if you can, particularly around cycle day 10-20, and all being well you should get some success. Maybe do a bit of research around how it works aswell. I’m pregnant with baby 3, #1 wasn’t planned, #2 took 5months and #3 took 19months… so I’ve wee’d on many an ovulation stick, tracked like a mad woman…

Yes, my wording was definitely off there 😂

I understand how this works, just did not phrase correctly! We have plenty of fun and enjoy each other in these moments but we're ready to start our family.

I was mostly asking out of curiosity, I know it can take months (if not longer sometimes) just curious!

Ta x
